I would only touch it, if it is free to play. I will never give them money upfront again. Wolcen was to much of a disaster. It was quite buggy and unbalanced. But the worst part was the radio silence to the community and then just the news "Hey guys, FYI: we will pull the plug".

Wolcen 2 would be in my rotation for sure. I still think the first one is better than it got credit for. The old hack and slash games are still kicking both Grim dawn and Warhammer Inquisitor martyr recently put out new stuff.

Dude Wolcen was freaking great as a solo aRPG, it just was not what the live service aRPG players wanted and it did launch in a pretty bad state. To this day Wolcen still has stellar visuals, effects, sounds, great feeling combat and in the final update I really really liked the itemization and gear progression.

Don't feel bad. It has all the makings of a good game, Unfortunately they missed the mark on a lot of things. I honestly think they would've benefitted from not being hyped up so much at launch. Might have given them a bit more time to flesh things out, but who knows. I played 44 hours or so (just checked steam). It was just lacking a lot of what other ARPGs offer...and as an avid PoE player it just felt so damn bare bones. Amazing campaign though. And I hate ARPG campaigns.

I usually play all the ARPG games, but one thing I avoid is PvP. It isn't a thing I am interested in, but if the game separates the two I'll give it a look. You get a larger audience if you can keep PvP and PvE separate, and PoE is an example that you don't even need it as long as you can make a great game. I guess this will go on the list of things to watch, thanks.

PoE has pvp, but it's not balanced for player vs. player. You can go pvp with your pinnacle slaying gear, and still get onetapped by the dumbest shit... or you can make a practically unkillable HoGM character and just stand there... menacingly.

Keep in mind, these are not the same devs from the OG Wolcen, they are gone with our money. These is a Russian company that like to make games with ships and tanks, heavy P2W Free2Play games. I don't expect any different from this "free2play" game. Project Osiris, is rumored to be an actual Wolcen Remaster/Rework, though. P.S. I find it funny, that in their site, where they ask how many hours have you sink in aRPG games, they didn't include Wolcen as an example, lol.

I had fun with Wolcen, the build system with the rotating rings was unique. I am not an extraction PVPVE player thus not for me, help them well.

I really liked wolcen. I made my own secret build, done most achievements with it (like going through all without dying, 0,4% of players had it back then before many things got fixed and bosses nerfed), visuals (especially the blood realm) have no match even today. I dont get all the hate its getting, people just jump on the hate wagon like meme. I hope ill get in the test and i will definitely watch any content you make for wolcen 2

Wolcen was a great game. A lot of ingenuity went into making it, I can't say the same for D4. The only thing D4 did new was an open map.

The OG devs took our money, sold their studio and IP and left. These are the ones behind games like War Thunder (Gaijin Entertainment) and alike. This is why the game will be a PVPVE so expect tons of P2W stuff in the cash shop. Gaijin Entertainment was very well-known for charging people affected by a mistake made by the devs (giving premium time to random accounts). When they noticed it, they removed it from the affected accounts, and then, they CHARGED their accounts with a "pay debt" so if in the future, those accounts paid for premium time, they would pay for the time given (by mistake) first, lol.

1000% on board for a Wolcen 2, the original was great (when it was actually WORKING). This game is different in concept but if it's got the same atmosphere, I'm on board. As long as the PvP aspect is not mandatory, that is.

early access had that idea of weapons having different attack animations, equipping a different offhand would alter those attack patterns too. It was a really cool idea if they were able to implement importance of normal attacks in the game. lords of mayhem on launch turned out to be select a skill to spam. and yeah, we lost the open world.

I enjoyed Wolcen when it first came out despite the issues it had. Personally, I think they should have addressed the issues with the game instead of deciding to shut it down. If they had done that or left it in the oven for a few more months before releasing it a lot of the problems would have been fixed before launch. But what am I saying I'm not a game dev. Looks don't make a game the features, mechanics, story and its performance are what make a game. Does it help if the game looks pretty? Yes, but if that is all the game has then it will fail. While I don't like games that combine pvpve maybe Wolcen will get the formula right and their new project doesn't fail.

If it somehow turns out aight then of course. Look at V Rising and how huge of a success it was, considering those devs' past, which is making two games and abandoning both of them shortly after, and with Battlerite they also even managed to make a separate battle royale mode that was paid to play, separate from the OG arena Battlerite :D People just don't care about doing any research, they just buy games and play them. Most people who will buy and play this won't even know Wolcen existed, because those who do probably won't give this company any money, cause they don't deserve any.

Isometric looter ARPGs are my jam, but I have mixed feelings about this... Wolcen wasn't great, but it was decent enough (even with an unfinished campaign, UGG!). I'd be willing to give their second game a try. However, a PvEvP extraction game? Meh

Nothing against you, but I bought Wolcen because of another youtuber a few years ago and I highly regret it. The game was never in a good state, then let down. All about graphics from the beginning and always felt like an alpha, full of bugs and unbalanced. Then no news from the devs while still grabbing some money. And now they'd expect us to buy their new game ?... No way.
