YESSIR R142A 6 IS IN HERE WITHIN THE BEGINNING!!!

Now we have the R62as back on the Pelham line for a replacements of the R142as that was on the Pelham 6 line were sent to the Flushing line for Cbtcs and they remodified the R142as into the R188s. The 6/7 trains had to swapped their fleets. The rest of the R142as that was on the Pelham line were sent to the Jerome avenue 4 line. However the R142as from the Pelham line is not retiring from the Pelham line. Just the old Redbirds are long gone from the 2/4/7/5/6 trains. When the brand new R262/as comes for Cbtcs some of the R142as will make a Return back on the Pelham 6 line. For now we have to deal with the R62as on the Pelham 6 line and the Shuttle trains and the R62s on the Broadway 3 line.

@@chaohwac that’s too bad. With the 2 being the first line to operate with R142’s in 2000, I imagined maybe the 5 began running with R142’s around that same time. Or was it not until sometime around the spring or summer of 2001? I know the 4 didn’t run with R142/A’s until around June or July 2002, but I do wonder when exactly the 5 began running with R142’s.

When I first saw the R142A as a kid I hated them because they were bland as hell. Even in today’s world the R160s R179 R160B and R143 are all the same. I miss the different car sets on these lines.
