I grew up going to Bowman Gray every Saturday night with my Aunt and Uncle. This brought back so many memories and has peaked my interest in NASCAR again. While Kasey Khane was with Evernham was the last time I followed NASCAR. I'm not saying the Clash or the All-Star race should be there each year, not sure the city is able to handle that type of crowd. However I would like to see more Cup races/cars, maybe not all the big names but maybe as a "minor league" like I feel is part of its roots. I do like hearing your take on things "behind the scenes" and, as I'm a Tar Heel native, being partnered with MJ doesn't hurt me starting to follow you. I've certainly found a new podcast at least. Might sound crazy, but i think they should stop suppressing the noise of the cars to make the broadcast crew sound cleaner. It adds chaos & in my opinion makes watching from home much better. Here’s the thing about this race. I watched it all, dad watched it as well..we hadn’t watched a race since 20 years ago. The tv coverage was great..more on that in a minute. This is where NASCAR was born and raised. The slower pace of the cars allowed the sponsors to be seen more clearly, which is what made nascar popular. I was shocked Dad knew the #22 of Lagano. I remember a day when you couldn’t see the number of the cars at the end of the day because of all the beating and banging. I understand the need back in the day for the 1.5 mile oval in order to invest in technology. But you’ve gotta figure out a way to allow these cars to beat and bang around the short tracks with pack racing. Louisville Motor Speedway was an amazing place back in the day, a mini Michigan. INDY is starting to get its act together. F1 moving into the USA. Xfinity on the CW all year. NASCAR needs to do more to make its sport accessible with ARCA and now that we dint have the ASA tour anymore..we’ve lost that path for dirt guys to move up. Watching Chase Elliot, Ross Kenseth, Landen Cassill, Smoke and Rod Hornaday race at Hawkeye downs is something that is missing from racing these days.
