It's cute, but it doesn't scratch the surface of its potential. The most interesting parts of the story ended up being the very exceptionally few parts that confronted the premise of the MC being a demon, as well as the impact his status as a guard for the demon king had on the wider world. While the coupling and the blooming romance and all are endearing and cheesy, they end up becoming bland as the world itself crumbles into a flat piece of cardboard around them.

This actually is a better manga story than i was expecting. It has a cliche isekai and romance plot but the characters are really well done and the slice-of-life and romance aspect is really good. Youki and Cecilia's relationship is so adorable. Also, glad to see the Mikana apologized and she and Yuuga made up. I like that even despicable characters get tbeir redemption and are more developed.

This manga is adorable. But what scares me is that the LN it's adapting from has been on hiatus since 2015. I'm wondering whether this will continue on their original route or drop after it depletes the source materials. The monster are mostly crazy but most demon kings always attempt Diplomacy before being resigned to fight. However on the side of "Light" you ALWAYS have a corrupt, insane, Princess who loves to maek innocents suffer, a sexual predator Loli Princess (sometimes more), You than have King that is always greedy, a Knight Captain that will skin chldren in order to get what he wants, and finally you have the duo of Sword Saint and Hero, the greatest warriors in the land, who spend so much time talking about "Fighting for Justice and Fighting for the Light" that they never notice the evil being done in their names. Anime turned the entire genre on its head!
