I remember those. They worked fine, nothing special but functional.

Seem like great hulls in general. I just think they’re neat.

I thought they shot great back in the day. @@avidwaterfowler7522

Activ hulls are still being made, just not in the USA. Not being imported either.

That’s cool. I haven’t heard of that and it seems all the old timers I meet really liked them. Damn shame they aren’t made here anymore.

The original company and brand Zigor was a Spanish company. Zigor merged with another Spanish company CTL/Activ original cases were made in Vitoria, Spain. The original Zigor cases are quite varied in color and graphics. They had a manufacturing facility in Santa Fe, Argentina. The case production machinery was purchased from Kent -Gambore ( Canadian based shotshell mfg. )when Kent purchased the Activ facility in Kearneysville, WV . collecting all the variations of zigor, Activ, Argentianian hulls and boxes would be a formidable collection and require some searching. An after thought, Lightfield ammunition company started in the 70's using Activ hulls for their very accurate slugs which were early sabot designs. I was of the understanding that first production was made by Active on their machines.

That is excellent Information. Thanks for sharing. I was very fortunate recently to find my first brand new 20ga Activ dove load box that was full never used! Got them for $8.

IMHO these were/are the best shotgun hulls ever made…I still reload my old ACTIV red and black hulls (and the new maroon colored skived hulls that I was gifted) In Cowboy Action Shooting (they fall free from a double barrel just by a quick rearward motion)…the reaction of the range picker upper is always with a look of puzzlement 😂😂😂 I wish they were still being made…enjoyed this video 👍👍👍

I think they’re amazing as well. Several years back I could have bought brand new hulls as new old stock. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize how awesome they were and I passed up on them.

Wow. I shot Active 20g slugs when I was 10 years old lol. Always remember those all plastic hauls.

I have found several more boxes of different Activ loads I want to show off.

Activ is alive and well in Argentina, in the 80`s reloaded them for years, wad was taperd.
@avidwaterfowler75229 ай бұрын
Yes, that’s what I’m told. They haven’t been available in the states for a VERY long time.

My favorite hull to reload and Active sold components pretty cheap. I have some 12 ga new hulls and wads, maybe some 16 and 20 too. I have a good bit of first load handloads for ruffed grouse in 16ga.

I never saw active shells that weren’t 12ga. I keep looking for more different varieties every time I stop at a different shop or gun show but they seem to have mostly dried up.

back in the lead shot days I had a awsome duck load with Active hulls .They were right up there with AA hulls for reloading

Sure seem like a great hull!

I have a few individual ones left. Was getting them in the later 80's.
@gunsnwater26689 ай бұрын
Yup, that's when I was getting them also. They were the cheapest shells out there.

Definitely the embodiment of a bygone era when factory ammo... Factory anything was made well. Very cool.

The 12ga slugs were the most accurate slugs I've ever used. I wish I would have stocked up on them when they were around back in the 90's. MVP Sports was a 4-5 store sporting goods chain in Massachusetts that was originally called Colemans sporting goods. MVP was bought out by Decathlon sports which has since gone out of business.

I haven’t shot any to confirm. It’s a weird thing, but I’ve been collecting these as much as I can in different loads. I got three different loads since I made this video. Thanks for the comment.

I didn't find the components easy to get nor cheaper. I liked them, but for reloading it wasnt cheaper in my area.

Thanks for the info. They are just a collectors item for me.
