Miniaturization and functional integration are among the biggest trends in life sciences, medicine, pharma and diagnostics.
Our micropump mp6 extends passive microfluidic chips and converts them into active units. In microfluidics, we are almost always exposed to laminar flows, which results in a lack of cross-flow within the liquid and makes it difficult to mix two liquids. In this video, a special structure of the microfluidic chip evokes this cross-flow, making it easier to mix the two differently colored liquids. In combination with the electronically driven micropump the slim, small and inexpensive system enables fast and safe filling of even the smallest and complex structures, e.g. in lab-on-a-chip applications. Rather than using conventional laboratory technology, testing and diagnostics can be carried out directly at the point of care - saving time and costs.
The flat system can be integrated into portable devices, the digital handling allows for a variable flow rate and simple operation.

Unsere Mikropumpe mp6 erweitert passive Mikrofluidik-Chips und wandelt sie in aktive Einheiten um. In der Mikrofluidik sind wir fast immer laminaren Strömungen ausgesetzt, was dazu führt, dass die Querströmung innerhalb der Flüssigkeit fehlt und das Mischen zweier Flüssigkeiten schwierig ist. In diesem Video ruft eine spezielle Struktur des mikrofluidischen Chips Querströmungen hervor und erleichtert so das Mischen der zwei verschiedenfarbigen Flüssigkeiten. In der Kombination mit der elektronisch gesteuerten Mikropumpe ermöglicht das schlanke, kleine und kostengünstige System das schnelle und sichere Befüllen selbst kleinster und komplexer Strukturen z.B. in Lab-on-a-Chip-Anwendungen. Tests und Diagnosen können so statt im Labor direkt am Behandlungsort durchgeführt werden - was Zeit und Kosten spart.
Das flache System kann in mobile Geräte integriert werden, die digitale Handhabung ermöglicht einen variablen Durchfluss und eine einfache Bedienung.
