Activating Stillwater Sirens | Stillwater, OK. 4-3-18

Went down to the EMA to meet the EMA Director again and he let me activate the sirens. The captioning pretty much explains everything that's going on. We talked about older sirens a lot and he told me he's looking to buy a 2T22 and install one in his backyard for his neighborhood. He's a cool guy! :)

All I want to do is understand how this works on a very deep level. I want to know whats being encoded, how its being encoded and how the electronics work, how its being sent over the radio and just how the system works. I love emergency tech like sirens and radios and the such and I think its super neat. Thanks for the video! Its really cool.

I’m hoping to get to set off my town of Enid, Oklahoma’s sirens next summer when they start testing again, if I’m lucky

I’m going to Enid tomorrow for lunch. Was planning to record a siren there but if they aren’t testing then I guess I’m only getting lunch.

Well you might want to try and record just in case but I doubt they will because they usually don’t test after October until April because temperatures are cold. I really hope they go off though because the Thunderbolt ambience from my school is AMAZING

Oklahoma Sirens Okay. I’ll go ahead and record. I was planning to make a flight into Enid last week for the test. I was told there’s no reason they shouldn’t be testing. I’m recording the t-bolt at the airport because I’m landing there and getting lunch there.
