nice seeing recruiters use social media and platforms such as youtube to reach the civilian population and inform them about joining the military. 🙏🏻

Biggest difference between Active Duty and Reserves is the freedom. Reserves allows you to transfer units easier and IF you decide to go on active duty orders you have the freedom to choose from a pool of orders to go to duty stations such as Lejeune or Pendleton. There’s more freedom and so long as you get your hours in, then you’ll be good. Another thing is, outside of your AT, you’re not really guaranteed much MOS training because there’s admin paperwork and other things that you must do like dental, medical, audiology, range, and various other things. Also Active Duty Opportunities at least in my MOS are at minimum 9 months. You can get full benefits in the reserves if you get 3 years of active duty time to include your entry level training (boot camp, MCT, AIT)

This was really informative thanks, I am currently debating weather I want to go full time or reservist, my job currently pays me really good and I don’t want to just quit it so the reserves is looking good for me, and also I want to get a new car and if I join full time I have a feeling I won’t be able to pay it lol.

The Best of both worlds experience is a Marine Reserve who is activated to deploy in combat. There are also some opportunities for reserves to join active deployments. Some reservist are also prior full active Marines.

I’m thinking about joining marine reserves and may talk to a recruiter this week. The reasons for joining reserves is so I can continue to work and go to school and I plan on getting married and starting a family here soon.

He’s right. We don’t allow hand tattoos, you have to have it 100% removed. No waivers.

It does not. You just need to provide a recruiter with the necessary information (hospital visits, discharge paperwork, etc) so the doctors can review everything.

I’m unsure what you mean by minimum but you can be married and have a kid and be ok. If you have 2 kids you have to go reserves. 3+ kids and you’re not eligible
