Active geothermal area in volcanic zone - New Zealand

My name is Xanthe.
Recently, I visited the Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland (between Taupo and Rotorua in New Zealand). It's an active geothermal, volcanic zone.
It smells terrible (the sulfur gases), there's boiling mud, craters, lots of steam and interesting colours. The yellow is sulfur deposits.
My last memory of visiting there was over 40 years ago.
