I'm old. When I was a kid bashing my JRX Pro around the driveway we had 7,2 volt battery packs. Basically it was 6 C batteries. 78 MPH would have been the world speed record. So much has changed. Cheap low end cars today, would have dominated the tracks back in the 90's.
@acecapone80862 ай бұрын
I agree. I'm from the same era. Charge the packs all night for ten minutes of fun. My first kit was the Tamiya super hornet. Mechanical speed control and all. I think the brushless power systems are unmatched in speed and efficiency which may be the main difference between old-school and new school.

Those original cars from the 70s-90s are what makes the craziest cars of today! Everything starts somewhere. I'll never forget as I started with a little X MOD from Radio Shack in 2004 when I was 6 years of age, (I am 26 now). If I did not have my little XMod, I probably wouldn't even be doing RC cars right now. It opened my mind to appreciate building, customizing & Innovating things of today!

Odd wheel choice. I have these wheels too and they don’t speed run very well. Otherwise, cool! Thanks for sharing the logs, the most impressive part is the wicked low ripple for such high amp draw
@InnovationRC2 ай бұрын
Thank you I appreciate that! Glad you found the logs useful! To be fair, I didn't think I'd be over 100 on 3s, maybe 4s. Gotta go back to grps. These tires look amazing but they don't hold up well. Had to try them, never did before!
@PigglyWigglyDeluxe2 ай бұрын
@@InnovationRC proline makes on-road wheels that look pretty but you know as well as anyone that GRP is the bare minimum for serious speed runs. Beyond that, you know, BSR foams. But yes, the logs are what speed runs are made of. Understanding the data is the key to huge speed, especially with such low voltage. 80+ on 2S is huge, especially with a big fat heavy car

You should make this active areo car a track racer and put a channel mix on your steering and brake so that the wing goes down variably depending on steering input and or braking
@InnovationRCАй бұрын
Yup I actually have it able to run off the throttle port too. I prefer having a fixed wing for this test
@kylarstern76272 ай бұрын
Hey bud great video, how are you pulling such high amps out of a 3s??
@InnovationRC2 ай бұрын
Because the motor draws a lot in general, plus the gearing stacked that high. But if the battery isn't capable it won't draw that amperage to begin with and voltage will drop significantly
@ralphhowing34732 ай бұрын

I had recently tried my first max6 1750kv combo in a k6s on 6s and was blown away with the adjustability from the punch down to 2 through 8 and the tire choices of copperheads, 4s LPs and 6s backflips . At 2 the whole travel of the trigger increases speed like a real sports car accelerates . At 6-8 punch it lifts the fronts too much for my liking . I never realized a lower punch of 2 would actually drive and feel better . That’s with a 20t on 6s with the 4s it feels like it’s ready to race on a dirt or grass track . Dang dude , yours is hauling serious tail . 👍

Hi again I have a question brother I’m trying to get my rig ready for speed runing I do remember you saying suspension is the most important when comes to speed running what you did to vision and Spartan at the front end as far as the shocks once I remove the shocks what should I get to replace them? I know you say tie rod, but is there a specific length or brandthat you would suggest
@InnovationRC2 ай бұрын
I don't have the specific length. But I used the rods in the front. But you need to make sure you have a super smooth road. What you should do is install them, then adjust the length of them once it's on the road and completely loaded (has the running weight). Make sure the front is always lower than the rear so aerodynamically you won't lift in the front at speed 💪

This is a really awesome idea, tho flawed. With the adjustablities and configuration of today's modern transmitters it should be reasonably easy to control the amount of downforce in conjunction with the amount of throttle or pull of the trigger. Possibly with advanced transmitters and telemetry this could be controlled by motor rpm and/or speed. Maybe even both. I see good things here in the world of high speed RC racing
@InnovationRC2 ай бұрын
I can easily do that with a flip of a switch too. Allow it to work in line with throttle. But I wanted to specifically test the speeds with difference factors of downforce. I wouldn't say flawed, you just weren't informed Shockwave could do that. Telemetry I try to stay away from, more wires and stuff to go wrong... Gotta keep things simple the faster you go with these things. But as you said, this technology changes and evolves fast! I just prefer to be simple and consistent
@wrenchg39542 ай бұрын
@InnovationRC i very much agree. Using flawed wasn't the term I should have used. Well you know what a little contex can do 😁

Hi man. I have two 10.000 mah 4s packs for my outcast 8s. After about 30-35 charging cycles they started to heat up and puff up while using them pretty hard. After i stop using them, i let them sit 6-7 hours and the packs go back to normal. The punch is also not like it used to be. I plan to buy more packs because of the good price and long run time, but i wonder what i can do to prevent the swelling and heating up. I run a max5 with an 1100kv spektrum motor on 25/39 gearing. My esc is set on medium low voltage cutoff. After LVC is hit, i check the batteries and the cells are about 3.4v/ cell. After 5-6 hours of letting them cool down the voltage rises up to 3.6- 3.65v/ cell. If i set my esc to high LVC, the cells are at about 3.65v then after a couple of hours they go to about 3.75v /cell. Shoud i keep my esc on high lvc? Thanks
