I was talking with someone in a chatroom about the recent passing of David Bowie, and he asked me if I'd heard about Alan. We ended our conversation very soon after he told me the news, and I immediately shut off my computer and cried. "Grace" isn't a word I've heard used a lot in connection to a man, but Alan had that in spades. He handled his illness with SO much grace and strength, throwing himself into his work despite knowing what was ahead. He told absolutely no one about the diagnosis, beyond his biological family. He was immeasurably kind-hearted, funny, eager to help in any way he could when asked...a real-life Prince Charming, from what I've heard. We miss him a lot, and we definitely won't forget him. I loved Die Hard and Bottle Shock. Both great films and the depth of different characters he could play. Truly multidimensional actor. Every Christmas and every time we go to Napa, we watch Alan Rickman act his best. My other favorite is Sense and Sensibility. Magnificent….

I can,t believe I didn,t know this wonderful actor, whom I have admired for years has died, and a few years ago now! I remember him in Truly Madly Deeply, with Juliet Stevenson, it was the first time I had seen him in a role, and I was engrossed! Loved it, and both of them, and his voice captured me!
