If you've got any tips for using Actors Access, share them below!

Always enjoy watching your channel. I’d like to add two more tips. 1. Actor Access allows extra 4 seconds for $22. So a 1.04 minutes video costs $22. 2. Let’s say you upload 2 minutes demo reel which consists of 4 clips. Each clip has 15, 25, 30 and 50 seconds in length. Actor Access has an option to break down demo reel into clips for $11 per minute. So if I want to have both 2 minutes demo reel and 4 clips uploaded, total fees are $66 instead of $88. The 4 extra seconds also apply to this case so you can upload a total of 2.04 minutes video for $44. Hope Actor Access still runs this saving.

1st Tip was really helpful as I was gonna edit two clips into one but seeing this now makes more sense so material doesn't get mixed into one demo reel clip. Thanks for this. Also for the link site tip as well.

This is great! Didn't think about the uploading tip, so thank you! Question, what are your thoughts about uploading clips verses a whole reel?
@ActingCareerCenter
@ActingCareerCenter 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Michelle! I believe both have their merits. Agents have said they like to use clips if they need to pitch an actor for a specific role and can therefore find the right clip that helps sell the actor. Casting directors (specifically Feldstein/Paris) have said that they like to have demo reels to show producers if they need help making a final casting decision.

Thanks so much for the helpful tips! Question on photos: For commercial actors, should you also add photos of prior work? Or is the photos section strictly for headshots? Wondering if adding additional photos of past work would provide an advantage. Thank you!

I don't think that is very common for actors access. Often, people will post those on the media section of their own websites but actors access is usually just headshots

I don't really have the answers for this because this is a new situation for everyone. If you are trying to START your acting career, my first recommendation is always acting classes. Many acting schools are doing classes via zoom right now.

@ActingCareerCenter
@ActingCareerCenter 3 жыл бұрын
You can ask your Heyman agents if they recommend you put the training videos on your resume. You may end up having different resumes for different situations. For a film and television resume, for example, you wouldn't have any training videos on there.

I can’t seem to find the answer to this anywhere on the internet: should you only upload theatrical clips to your Actor’s Access? Or should you also upload commercial clips?
@ActingCareerCenter
@ActingCareerCenter 3 жыл бұрын
I guess it depends on the market. Here in Atlanta, I do see commercial auditions on AA every once in a blue moon so my agents have asked me to have a commercial reel up there. I don't have separate commercial clips, just a one minute reel.

Casting decisions are out of your control as an actor. You can't convince anyone to hire you. You can do the best job that you can and then the rest is out of your hands. Here's a video on how to find auditions without an agent: kzbin.info/www/bejne/j5LVp2l4gsl0Z7M

Hey, just have confidence in yourself and a lot of personality, don't get nervous, just keep in mind that THEY WANT IT TO BE YOU ... that is out of your reach apart from this and if the casting did not come out, try again. Give up, remember that many great actors worked hard to get where they are now

I have tried to upload a slate shot to Actors Access; however, when I preview it, it looks blurry. Now, I checked my recording prior to uploading and it’s not blurry. But I re-recorded myself slate shot with different framing just in case…same result. So I’m not sure why the preview looks this way. I haven’t completed the upload for this reason. Any insights or tips?

Hmmm. I'm not sure. If you are uploading with your phone, try uploading from a computer. Also, check the file format. I've found MP4 files work best with Actors Access.

Is actors access for international actors as well. Like actors in Africa? Do you have any tips for actors in other parts of the world trying to make it in hollywood.
@ActingCareerCenter
@ActingCareerCenter 3 жыл бұрын
Hollywood is in America. So if you want to be an actor in Hollywood, it will be nearly impossible to do it from another country. My advice would be to focus on acting in your home country first. Then when you are ready, make the move to America.

There's no one right answer to every situation. You'll have to decide what is most important to you. A theatre degree can be helpful if you want to pursue stage acting. It can also be helpful for film and television acting but certainly not required. I do not have a theatre degree. I've been studying with acting teachers at independent acting studios for the past 12 years

I have heard that slate shots help you show up at the top of the list for casting directors but I know some professional working actors who have zero slate shots attached to their photos and they get just as many auditions as I do.
