Shia LaBeouf actually recanted a lot of this demonization of his father so he could look interesting in interviews, and feels ashamed for besmirching a decent man. He talked about it in an interview on Jon Bernthal's podcast. He says he was an addict and abusive to women, too. He recently converted to Catholicism.

That smacks of cultish thinking. DeNiro is the same meat and water human as everyone else in the room yet he is treated differently. Meanwhile in the room, everyone is comfortable with each other and mutually respectful because preserving everyone's dignity naturally leads to a more fun conversation. But looking at it from the outside and judging wantonly. That specifically is where the problems start and then expand into a cult without reason or method. It just happens and this comment right here is a perfect example of it.

All these men around this table are amazing actors who will go down in history. But one thing I love is how Jamie Foxx has the natural ability to help you visualize what he is saying along with constantly making you laugh. He had these men rolling! And he has so much positive energy in him, you can see it as he speaks. His whole body becomes animated. A truly blessed individual. All of these men are blessed in their own ways. It is a true pleasure to have been able to see them work in this lifetime.

Yes and no... He did say in the beginning of the video that he saw his father as the greatest villain in his life and that it was important to overcome that. Then later the host asks Shia if he felt his father was a villainous figure in his life he responded "no" and that he "never viewed him from that perspective." Captain Crunch Talking about something doesn't mean talking lightly about something People nowadays tend to unfortunately focus only on the most basic causes that may lead to mental health issues and justify it as only chemical imbalance The way Shia talks about it is from a point of view of someone who struggled and today still struggles with a lot of problems but decides to break it down in more fundamental things In this interview when he talks so lightly about his abusive father really makes people see that they are indeed not alone on this as opposed as tweets saying " u are not alone call this number "

I think Adam was so great in Uncut Gems because of his title as comedian. I think it gave him a lot of vulnerability that was easy for the audience to feel because we know him as this funny guy. @Ian Visser I think that's a bit out of context. The foundation you build at a good school will carry you through life and help you grow to higher heights more than a single scene ever could. Sure you might literally learn more in your first production than you learn in 3 years at school, but you can only receive that knowledge in the best way, and grow from it in the best way because the school built a foundation for you to truly understand what it is that you're learning. Adam Driver will continue to grow into one of the most well received actors of the next generation, and it won't be a coincidence that he put in the time early on to master the fundamentals of his craft where others may start earlier with the same breaks, but won't climb as high.
@MrSupdup
@MrSupdup 4 жыл бұрын
@Ian Visser Most great actors start off in acting school and then go into theatre. There is no time to learn the fundamentals when you're performing 2 shows a day, 5 days a week. It's do or die, you're focusing on nothing but nailing your next show, not on the arcane theories and literary concepts that made up why you did well or did poorly. A michelin starred chef spends around 2 years learning the fundamentals (how to chop, how to clean, how to whisk, how to pour, how to poach an egg, how to flip an omelette, what foods taste salty, what foods taste sweet, why do they taste like that, etc.) before they are allowed to cook a single meal, verses a diner cook who is thrown into the deep end on their first day in the job. After two years the diner cook is going to deliver a far better dinner service than the traditionally trained culinary chef - they'll have learned much much more working for 2 years than studying for 2 years. In ten years the traditionally trained chef is going to have a michelin star and customers will travel across country borders to taste their food, and the diner chef is going to be pretty similar in ability. All of the greats spent the time to master the fundamentals. School isn't about learning as quick as possible, it's about mastering the basics so you achieve your maximum potential.
