Shia LaBeouf actually recanted a lot of this demonization of his father so he could look interesting in interviews, and feels ashamed for besmirching a decent man. He talked about it in an interview on Jon Bernthal's podcast. He says he was an addict and abusive to women, too. He recently converted to Catholicism.

That smacks of cultish thinking. DeNiro is the same meat and water human as everyone else in the room yet he is treated differently. Meanwhile in the room, everyone is comfortable with each other and mutually respectful because preserving everyone's dignity naturally leads to a more fun conversation. But looking at it from the outside and judging wantonly. That specifically is where the problems start and then expand into a cult without reason or method. It just happens and this comment right here is a perfect example of it.

Yes and no... He did say in the beginning of the video that he saw his father as the greatest villain in his life and that it was important to overcome that. Then later the host asks Shia if he felt his father was a villainous figure in his life he responded "no" and that he "never viewed him from that perspective." Kind of confusing and leads me to believe he sometimes says what he thinks will sound the best to his audience at the time rather than speaking his inner truths.

@@tpsam Disney straight fucked that whole trilogy up. The sequel trilogy is the definition of an uninspired, lazy, meaningless cash grab. Not only did the story line literally destroy the ending of return of the jedi, but it was for nothing. Nothing good came out of it. Kylo Ren sucked as a character because the 3 films are dogshit. The scripts were dogshit, the creative decisions were dogshit, the execution was dog shit. So, that's why. Driver is an excellent actor and a badass person in general, but there was nothing he could do to save those films.

dylan farnum many may agree with you but many other may disagree, about the films being dogshit. I respectfully disagree. There’s certain outcomes and things that the audience wanted fulfilled. And sure they didn’t hit all dots, but you can’t make everyone happy. People get upset when people die like Leia, Luke, or Han. It’s like they want an all happy ending where everyone lives just like every other happy ending animated movie. People are gonna die. And I feel that where people give the most hate and blame towards the 3 films. Adam was great, and many will disagree with me, but Rey was great too. They have a female Jedi. So what? Why’s it matter what gender the Jedi is? Cuz every fan, all the audience expects a certain thing. And when they don’t get, they freak out, they call the movie trash. Then they start blaming the actors like it was their fault. When it isn’t at all. In all 3 trilogy’s. 1-3 4-6 and 7-9, there was always a strong “marysue” type women in them. 1-3 being Padme, 4-6 with Leia, and 7-9 with Rey. And what’s the difference with them? Rey, because she is a Jedi, she uses a saber. Unlike the other 2 with blasters. It’s because it’s different is why they hate.
