In an interview on Hear U Out, Singaporean actress Chantalle Ng claims that her father, former actor Huang Yiliang, had hit her so badly one day that she had to be hospitalised for a week.

Ya lol, but for me as a father in future I would usually just cane my naughty, rebellious or stubborn children normally to teach them what is right or wrong! Cos I also do believe in caning, but not overboard or in an abusive way! I would usually ground my children from going out with me and my future wife if they don't work hard or fail their studies!

I am also a dad with a teenager son. Never in my life I will believe in canning to let your child learnt. Yes, I agreed sometimes in parenting either mother or father has to play good and bad guy. But it's all about communicating and teaching to your child definitely not by canning. Certain moral punishments should be given for repeat offense and encouragement words for things that your kids has done well. I believe this should be the correct way.
