Her Best Role WAS In The 1978 Movie Coma. She Was So Stunning. God Bless You Elizabeth Ashley.

The first time I have ever heard of this gifted woman or had even heard her perform ever was on the 1978 movie, "Coma," which she starred as the head nurse of the fictitious Jefferson Institute. God, she played her part well. I was 12 years old in the summer of 1990, when Mom and I watched "Coma." I am blind, and though I couldn't see her act, what I heard was awesome. Rest in peace, Elizabeth. We lost an icon when you left this earth. I hope you are performing as well in heaven as you had on earth. We love, you, Elizabeth.

This lady is too freaking cool. It is 2019 as I write; she has of course done, by now memorable 'Aunt Mimi", in the series TREME. I admire Ms. Ashley for a slew of reasons - that honey and bourbon voice, her unflinching honesty, and fierce talent. But also, a good friend of ours, (now deceased) spent time in Payne Whitney's Psychiatric Unit years ago. Ms. Ashley was quite forthcoming (she also was a patient at PW).. about her own life. In fact she did a black and white public service announcement on that very topic - dealing with the challenge of mental illness. I remember the tag line "Learn to see the illness". Nowadays, copping to an addiction problem, or a struggle with depression is nothing unusual. But I am betting, in those days? Her candor must have had real consequences for her, professionally and personally. Lovely lady....and the Baton Rouge part doesn't hurt, either. Huzzah!!

I hear she looks even better now at 81. I would love to see what she looks like. I crushed on her when I saw her in Stage Coach, 1986.

My God, what a remarkable woman. She truly seems to live live by taking it by the balls and running with it. And talk about a treasuer of the American theatre!

LIZ ;is a Glorious Broad, who wasn't afraid to say she liked to smoke, drink party and lots and lots of different men! It's really sad what happened to her later but she never made any excuses for her life-style and she never tried to "Candy -coat " it! (All ya' have to do is listen to her voice! ) I love that part in "Carpetbaggers", where Jonas aked her what she wants to see on her honeymoon and she replies,"LOTS AND LOTS OF CEILINGS!!!"

I did notknow you are famous. I do not if that is good or bad. Doen't matter. It's all about where you are now, and how you cope. Believe me. everybody must cope. I am wise at this age.

She is remarkable . I've been a fan for years, ever since I saw her in a spooky TV film in 1972( I was all of Ten at the time ). Didn't care for "Evening Shade" . Elizabeth was way too good for that show (just a vehicle for burt Reynolds, and not funny).
