Glad you liked the album, Anthony. I, too, wasn't a fan of RIP. A big part of Actress' appeal is his beats, and RIP suffered greatly because of that absence. Ghettoville brings the beats and sustains a great sense of dread. I love how stretched a lot of the songs feel. I also felt the vaporwave influences, but still enjoyed Rap. Perhaps it's just that the vocal is catchy to me. I actually enjoyed most of his shorter tracks, especially Image, because they were the more immediate and melodically driving songs on the album. Good review!

You should review the Cilvia Demo. And most importantly Sean Leon's narcissus, The Drowning Of Ego. That second tape is pure genius please give this man some light he is very talented and has some crazy production behind him, kinda reminds me of Clams Casino's production.

top 5 best tracks: 5. Contagious 4. Street Corp 3. Towers 2. Birdcage 1. Corner - Rule would have been in the top 5 if it wasn't for the first minute and 38 seconds of vocal clutter As for the rest of the album, extraordinary as well, making it hard to pick 5. i give it a 9/10. Frontline would have been alot better if it wasn't for the giant cloud of noise hanging over an otherwise great song. it sounds like how it would if i were to put a song with one earphone in on volume 3 while someone holds a blow-dryer to my other ear. however, the noise does get quieter and then goes away during the last 2 or 3 minutes.

I feel like i could just leave this album on repeat. Great ambient music, not too noisy (at least for me) to kind of ignore, and when you do want to take a break and relax, the music is just there for you to listen to. You can lose yourself in the seemingly endless depth if you wanted too. And than back to whatever you were doing. (working :/)

As alien and broken the first half sounds, it is really the second half that is out of this world. Actress also follows Burial actually, in breaking the sounds and beats apart as much as possible yet still maintainting some kind of song going. Strange, boring, and absolutely spectacular in places.
