Sometimes I feel like I want to wait before listening to an album if it's one I think I'll really love, like this one. Like, I want summer break to arrive before I listen to it, so that I won't connect this album to stressful school times, you know? I'm doing the same with Mogwai's latest. Anyone else do this?

Still listening to this album today. The mood it creates really hits home. I think most people reminisce about past lovers and desires with an exaggerated lens, and if spoken out loud it can sound crazy or psychotic. The album is a hollow shout, I love it and I'm glad you did too.

In the song Run From Me I always pictured the 'swinging gate' to be the way her legs looked when she runs, since that's someone's gate as well. It also makes the line a lot more sinister.
@jordanfox8407 жыл бұрын
I'm kinda late on getting into TT but I'm loving every bit of it! Freaking get choked up at random moments on this album. I managed to go through the discography while driving through Tonto Nat'l forest and TT offers a PERFECT soundscape to a lonely southwest road trip. btw I always thought Taylor says "your swinging GAIT" (not gate) as in like the shape of his lover as she runs is "swinging"

thought we had a 9 here for sure anthony. one of the most gripping and cinematic releases ive heard in the past couple years this is aoty and im bummed you weren't able to fully interrupt curtains because lyrically thats one of the strongest tracks on here.
@theneedledrop10 жыл бұрын
i thought we would as well, bit i still just wasn't that blown away by the album as a whole, really. i think timber timbre makes cinematic songs, but the entire thing feels like a series of non-connected vignettes to me, really. i don't think the record has a strong arch to it.
@BTown78710 жыл бұрын
theneedledrop late response but why do you think its so important for an album to find a balance between having songs that sound too uniform and songs that don't sound connected at all? do you think its the core quality that separates great albums from good albums?

I thought it sounded like an OST for a 60s-70s French overly-romanticized and -aestheric movie, maybe starring Serge Gainsburg. Separately the tracks are great, but as a whole album it felt monotonous.

I love the new Slasher Flicks album. My only real complaint at this time is the lack of harmonies from Deeradorian. She has such a beautiful voice, but she is rarely heard way out in the distance on some tracks.

Timothy Ludwig definitely agree, more vocals from her would've vastly improved the record i feel
