The thing I love about this movie is that in every scene where Kuzco is spoiled or mean, he winds up being the harbinger of his own downfall. Notable moments include him being mean to the squirrel who pops the balloon while Kuzco is surrounded by panthers. But the panthers don't wake up until Kuzco laughs at him. Then there is the scene on the rope bridge where Kuzco tries to leave Pacha to die and ends up falling through as well. The message is crystal clear. And the best message I've ever heard from any Disney film. Also Eartha Kitt, Patrick Warburton, David Spade, and John Goodman are so great together. They have amazing chemistry.

In hindsight, the reason why Kuzco is the way he is because of Yzma. She states after he fired her, “How can you do that to me after everything I’ve done for him? When I practically raised him!”, to which Kronk humorously (and a bit dumbfounding) says, “Yeah, you think he would turn out better….”. It’s also probably why Kuzco didn’t believe for the first time, let alone could figure out, that it was her that turned him into a llama. As he’s too ignorant to see that the woman who made him the way he is would ever harm him.
@JakkFrost1Ай бұрын
@@osmanyousif7849 I don't think Yzma actually had very much of a hand in raising him, hence her use of the word "practically" when she made the claim. She was embellishing, for others, but probably in her own memory too.

@@JakkFrost1 , so could you say the same for Kuzco in why he couldn’t figure out that it was her? Because when at the diner where Pacha hears what she did, he tries to warn Kuzco that she’s trying to kill him. But Kuzco says, “Kill me? Her whole world revolves around me!”. Now I don’t know what your definition of that line is, as Kuzco does say that about everyone, but for me it sounds like him asking, “Why would the people that take care of me, want to cause harm to me?”. Kuzco really believes that he can do whatever he wants to them, even after he treats them like garbage, yet they won’t do anything, after everything they’ve done for him. It makes it all the more heavy, when it’s later to revealed him that it was Yzma, and when her and Kronk leave to go find/kill him, Kronk responds with, “Well, you got a point. Nobody really seems to care that he's gone, do they?”.

I have to disagree. I think Kuzco does deserve Pacha. For one thing, let's remember that Kuzco is a teenager and clearly has never had an adult figure in his life teach him the values of empathy and kindness. Pacha was that person for him.

10/10 One of Disney's best animated films I think the film wasn't initially well received because it is so different from much of the Disney canon. It's much closer to the classic Looney Toons in its zaniness than say Sleepy Beauty. It is very bright and kooky in its animation style; it's a comedy in which the plot is basically incidental to the proceedings. Films like this live and die on their performances; the four principals of Goodman, Spade, Kitt, Warburton are all *perfect* in this film. Every time I watch it it is just as engaging and delightful as the first time I saw it. The film ended up being the first in a series of animated films-the Shrek films, others come to mind-making meta-jokes or commentary on their forms to produce much more comedic offerings. Returning to it after 20 years or so just makes it stand out as the trend setter it ended up being.

The movie is set in the Incan Empire in the 1500s, but many liberties were taken for the sake of its great comedy. The movie was originally going to be a musical called “Empire of the Sun”, with more serious moments (Sting was gonna provide a soundtrack, and Owen Wilson was going to play Pacha), but it went through development hell and was ultimately changed into a comedy. And the movie doesn’t share many elements with the fairy tale it bases its name off of (Emperors New Clothes).

Cinema Therapy had a fantastic episode about this one and narcissists. It only solidified my love of this movie that I’ve had since the year it released. Hands down, one of my top five Disney releases ever.

One of the most underrated animated Disney movies. David Spade is amazing as Kuzco

When I first saw this, I was a kid in third grade, I'm almost 32 now, so I was just watching this because I wanted to see it and my third grade teacher popped it in for a movie day (that's also how I first saw The Road to El Dorado, equally good film). Now, looking back, I'm more sympathetic to Pacha and the citizens of his village, as well as those who Kuzco mistreated at the beginning of the film, until he was humbled be his journey through the jungle to the palace (minus Yzma, obviously).

This was the last film voice of John Fielder. He played the old man who was kicked out of the window by Kusko, but he is best known as the voice of Piglet in Winnie the Pooh

I wish people could understand how unbelievably more funny this movie is in brazilian Portuguese. The words and expressions our voice actors added to the movie are icons in our country. This movie BLEW UP HERE, I was genuinely surprised people dont know this movie as much outside here.

Kuzco certainly didn't deserve Pacha, but he NEEDED somebody like that in his life to be able to change. That's how life is sometimes; you have to fight evil with good if you want a better future.

The craziest facts pop up if you look up how this film was made: they didn't even HAVE a final script. The fact that this movie ever even got made and greenlit is a miracle.

Thanks for the video. I enjoyed it.

Did you know that Eartha Kit was the first Black Catwoman actress? and that is why they chose to turn Yzma into a Cat.

Tom Jones did not have to go that hard on that intro song.

There was supposed to be a third movie, in the form of a prequel, but they decided to make a series instead. The prequel would have fleshed out Yzma's story.

There is no mystery as to why Kronk got his own show, he steals every scene

This movie was so iconic and yet so underrated.

A. This is my first reaction of yours I’m watching and I enjoyed every bit of it. B. I think that it’s not so much that we’re sympathetic to Kuzco, but that there’s normal people like you (👍🏾) and nice people who just don’t like to watch others suffer (👍🏾👍🏾).

Dissing Kronk’s spinach puffs was the biggest tragedy of this movie
