I think it might be because of how its several short stories put together into what is basically a sequel. While I like how its done here, I remember the Atlantis movie was my favorite as a kid, so when the sequel was just a bunch of one off stories I remember being very upset. It felt like it was just made to promote a tv series rather than be a legit sequel.

I'm also constantly reminded of the principle from the show fillmore Whenever I hear her voice. She has such an incredible range. She can sound kind and loving. Or she can sound like she's about to rip your spine out through your throat. And she can drop on a dime between those two with ease. That takes some serious skill that I wish I had.

8/10 A fantastic sequel, as fun as the original "The Emperor's new groove" is a fantastic comedy that has been entertaining me since its debut in cinemas. Now there's another comedy, "Konk's new groove", who is as fun as the original. Rarely Disney keeps the original's spirit alive in a sequel (sequel?this seems more a spin-off), but they've done a great job for this one. Kronk is lovable and as realistic as ever,and the gags are original and very funny!The animation is not fantastic,and some characters,especially Yzma (one of my favourite Disney characters!)and Pacha's wife are less expressive than in the original.Anyway,the characters' look is faithful to the original.The songs are pretty and entertaining as well,especially the Yzma's one, in a cabaret-style. If you like the first film as a comedy,you won't miss this excellent sequel. Great work!

Don't knock the placibo effect. It Is a real thing and is actually very amazing of what the human body is willing to do to repair itself if it thinks it's already on the mend. The key is you can never let the person under the effect know about it. Otherwise the whole thing instantly stops working. But if you don't know well that's the power of the placibo.

God I used to love fillmore. I was a huge fan of law n order, And police procedurals even as a kid. So seeing a kid's cartoon based on police procedural Was absolutely wonderful. It was basically law n order for kids And I freaking loved it. Also The voice of The principle, Is done by the same actress who voiced pacha's wife in the first emperor's new groove movie. And was also the voice of eda the owl lady.

Honestly not a bad sequel! I know Disney sequels more specifically straight to DVD sequels are often hit or miss but I honestly think despite the ratings, that this one was a pretty big hit IMO. It already won major points for bringing back the original cast. Something Disney sequels often don't do.
