I have been greatly troubled by the following and hoping for feedback. Daniel 9 the 70 weeks prophesy. I have long believed in a 7 year pre trib rapture. I take the start of this prophesy as king Artaxerxes command Nehemiah received in 457 BC, I understand it took Nehemiah 49 years to complete which fulfilled first 7 weeks. It’s 69 weeks from the 457 BC until messiah which lands at 27 AD start of Jesus’s ministry. The messiah is cut off after 69 weeks and not at it. Jesus had an approximately 3 year ministry then death burial and resurrection which in 30 AD Passover was a Wednesday a high sabbath and feast of unleavened bread Thursday also a high sabbath. By Saturday night he is 3 days and 3 nights in the grave and resurrection some time before dawn Sunday with Sunday starting at sundown Saturday as we know it. Temple destroyed 40 years after this and recorded by Jews problems with temple doors opening at night, day of atonement lot left hand only for 40 years, etc. I always thought Daniel 9:27 KJV stating he shall confirm the covenant with many for a week, I was told this is anti Christ peace deal and broken 3.5 years in, however if messiah came 27 AD then 70th week half past at crucifixion and it says confirm covenant not make new one. Jesus death burial and resurrection ended need for animal sacrifices and daily oblation. So before Jesus returns may only be 3.5 years left rather than 7 years of the 70 weeks. It appears to me Daniel 12:11 KJV seems to be separate from 70 weeks prophesy and emphasis a daily sacrifice being “taken away” as starting a 1290 count with a blessing at 1335 days. Daniel 12 says the wise will understand and wicked will not. Feedback appreciated.

Hey brother, you are definitely one who is interested in digging a little bit deeper which is unusual to find. I so appreciate that. Daniel’s 70 weeks prophecy (Daniel 9:24-27) is definitely a key passage to understand prophecy. In verse 24, Daniel gives the whole scope of the prophecy which is 70 weeks of years (490 years). In verse 25 he gives the first 69 weeks of years (483 years). It covers from “from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince.” That decree was probably the one that Artaxerxes made on Nisan 444 B.C. mentioned in Nehemiah 2:1. Now, there are several things that need to be considered. First of all, a biblical (prophetic) year was 360 days, not 365.25 days. If you convert the prophetic years into our Gregorian calendar it comes to approximately 476 years. Also remember there is no year zero. Now we have to determine what it means when the Bible says “unto the Messiah of the Prince.” while Jesus was born king of the Jews (Matthew 2:2), I believe it refers to a certain day when Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey and presented himself as king (Zechariah 9:9, Matthew 21:5). Sir Robert Anderson (the real Sherlock Holmes) wrote a book called “The Coming Prince” in which he cracked the code for Daniel’s 70 weeks. He came to the date of April 6, 32 A.D. He might have made a mistake and many people come to the year 33 A.D. You are absolutely correct when you stated, “The messiah is cut off after 69 weeks and not at it.” That occurs in verse 26. Verse 26 is a prophetic gap that represents the church age. It all adds up because Jesus presented himself as the king and a few days later (on Passover) he was crucified for our sins. The word prince in the Hebrew is “nagid” and is used for King Saul and King David. Daniel 12:11-12 11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days. 12 Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days. From the abomination of desolation, Daniel mentions 1290 days. That is 30 days past the end of the seven year tribulation. Remember, the prophetic year is based upon 360 day years. Also, what in the world does the 1335 days refer to? When you work out the calculation, Jesus has already returned and it falls on a Jewish festival. It seems like every significant event to the Jews falls on a Jewish festival! it falls on Hanukkah, the rededication of the temple from its desecration by the original antichrist Antiochus. could this be the day in the millennial kingdom when Jesus returns and the temple is rededicated? I am so sorry for my brief treatment on everything. Please check out my video below for the Daniel 12 prophecy: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mIDCmJ2FqNZspbM
