The series is American made and all in English but was given a japanese dub. It's about teams of heroes fighting monsters with unique weapons and what you see is what you get. Started on a low budget and grew and changes to a new software in season 4 which is why improves so drastically. The openings are sung by the same girl from when she was 15 til today in her 20s with her dad composing the music and doing background vocals.

A little sad fact: In the 4th OP there's the line "Move Onward Not There Yet." It's a play on the line "Keep Moving Forward" which was a line often said by the original creator Monty Oum. Take the first letter of The version from the song and you get MONTY. Sadly Monty passed away in 2015 around the beginning of Volume 3

As I mentioned in the previous post, since the posting of this video a legitimate RWBY anime has been announced, called RWBY Ice Queendom. It will be animated by Shaft, and puts the Japanese dubbing cast center stage. It appears to be a reboot of Vol 1, if not the entire franchise as a whole. This announcement would have been Monty Oum’s dream come true. Unfortunately he’s not alive to see it realized.

The music was done by a father daughter team. Yes the early seasons were ruff with what they were using Poser but then switched to a Maya engine after volume. Since the show is based off of fairy tales they call seasons volumes and episodes chapters. Sadly the shows creator died Monty Oum died after the 2nd season and it was up to his friends to continue his dream. The monsters are called Grimm based on the brothers Grimm. There are different types each with their own name. Schools formed to train people to fight the Grimm and become huntsman and huntresses. Most characters are based on fairy tale characters or mythology. The 4 main girls are Ruby Rose (the girl in red) she is based on little red riding hood. Weiss Schnee (the girl with white hair) she is based on snow white and her name is German for white snow. Blake Belladonna (the girl in black) is based on Bell and the beast from beauty and fhe beast. Finally there is Yang Xaio Long (the blonde girl) she is Ruby's older half sister. They have the same dad but different moms. Yang is based on Goldie locks. The headmaster of their school is Ozpin based on the great and powerful Oz. His vice head mistress is Glynda Goodwitch based on Glenda the good witch. Some characters based on mythology are Jaune Arc (the blonde guy) he is based on Joan of Arc, Pyrrha Nikkos (the red head from volumes 1 -3) is based off of Achilles. Infact in the story of Achillies when he was hiding out as a woman he called himself Pyrrha. Nora Valkyrie (the ginger girl) is based on a female version of Thor. Li Ren (the guy in green with black hair and pink highlight) he is based on a male version of Mulan.

I know I'm late but here we go, it's about 4 Teenage girls form Team RWBY and train to fight crime and monsters known as the Grimm, while the world of Remnant remains on the brink of an all out war. The story takes place in the world of Remnant, which is filled with supernatural forces and shadowy creatures known as the Grimm. But it gets much deeper than that as you can see from all openings that the songs tone/lyrics change every new Chapter.

The Red Trailer was a proof of concept pitch to the managers of the company. Monty did the CG animation by himself while Casey Lee Williams, who was 12 yo at the time, sang the song that her dad wrote and performed the instrumentation for. The 1st season was animated by 4 people with the voice actors being employees working for the company. For example, the front desk receptionist was asked by Monty if she'd thought about trying voice acting. She hadn't, so he asked her to give it a try. She voices Weiss, one of the main 4 characters in the series. They've become very good VAs over the period of the series. Each season got a larger budget and more animators which is why the animation and detail has gotten better every season. Monty Oum was considered to be one of the best fight choreographers ever seen in animation. Unfortunately, between season 2 and 3 he had an allergic reaction and the doctors gave him a medication to try to counteract it that caused an even stronger reaction. He died because of it. It's extremely sad that he never got to see his series progress to where it's been considered the first anime series to be exported to Japan with their own VA dub. He was the VA for one of the characters. After his death, his brother was asked to do the character and he has been doing it ever since. You should check out some of the famous VA artists who have done the series. You can actually buy the series on Blue Ray or DVD in Walmart if you aren't interested in streaming it. Currently, there's ads for a 2d Japanese anime series based on RWBY. It will be starting it's 9th season this year. It was delayed by a year due to Covid. Again, it's heartbreaking that he wasn't able to see how successful his dream became.

Sidebar, usual anime rules apply....so these openings are slightly spoiler-y at times. Also, every volume of RWBY starts with a cold open and the OP is actually the ED for the first chapter. Lastly, the last chapter of every volume except 7 has a post-credits "teaser" for the next volume.

@KitsyX2 жыл бұрын
Sorry this is a bit long, but hopefully it's helpful ^_^;; It's a bit of a flawed show that started off on a tiny budget with a pretty small team of animators who were probably amateurs, using Poser, which probably wasn't totally the best software for them to animate with lol... But the show still has a lot of heart put into it and the creator, Monty Oum, sure knew how to put a cool fight scene together... Sadly he died while they were working on volume/season 3...Still some cool fights after that though, especially once you get to volumes 6 and 7... Some people really enjoy one that's in volume 4, although 4 and 5 are a bit divisive or less liked (5 especially... Possibly some funds and talent were diverted to Gen: Lock at the time). The world has a bit of a Final Fantasy vibe... A mix of fantasy and high tech... Maybe FF8 is the closest... But also, pretty much every important character is loosely based on a fairy tale/legendary/mythical/literary/nursery rhyme character, so there's that element of fairy tales too... Some are obvious... Maybe you noticed the main character's red hood?... It's far from perfect but you can kinda tell they put a lot of love into it... All sorts of easter eggs and foreshadowing... The soundtracks are full of songs that expand on characters and such... Plus many are just bops lol. If you do feel like trying the show out, the first thing to check out the Red, White, Black and Yellow trailers... They're more character shorts than trailers, with all original footage... But they are also early work (the red trailer was Monty's proof of concept, I think, which he mostly did by himself)... If you then feel like getting into the show itself, you may want to consider watching the movie version of the first volume, if you can find it... Some of the episodes got split in two for budget reasons or something, so some are super short... But still have the opening lol. I don't mind, it's a great song, but still... If you feel like reacting to it, Rooster Teeth are cool with full, unedited, reactions (though for later seasons you may need to contact them to get your videos unblocked... Depending how you format it, they may not even claim revenue lol).

Regardless of one’s opinion on the series overall - love or hate - most would agree that the OSTs for this series are very good. Casey Lee Williams has essentially been the singing voice of this series from the beginning - and she was 13 years old when she started recording for Vol 1. I am a big fan of this series, but I’m not one of those fans that pretends the series isn’t without its flaws. Vols 5 and 6 are by far the weakest of the series, and I think it was because this is where the death of Monty Oum (the series’ creator), who died during the production of Vol 3, began to show in the story. It was like all direction was lost and they were trying to find their footing and a new direction. They have somewhat recovered in Vols 7 and 8 IMO. The animation for Vol 1 is pretty terrible - until you realize that they had a budget that couldn’t even buy shoestrings and the spent most of the money on fight choreography. When you have that context it’s actually pretty incredible what they pulled off. Vol 3 is probably the peak of the series. It really showed how great this series could have been. While Vols 7 and 8 don’t reach those heights, it shares a lot of the same tone that made Vol 3 so good. Since you posted this video, a legitimate RWBY anime has been announced, called RWBY Ice Queendom. It will be animated by Shaft (Mongatari and Madoka Magica), and appears to be a reboot of Vol 1, if not the entire series, and the Japanese dubbing cast is taking center stage for this. If nothing else, I’m looking forward to this for “General Esdeath” Weiss alone.
