Greg, the second add you featured with the ASUS Z97 MOBO and the i7 4790 (non K) happens to be a bit of a special unicorn and the gentleman isn't wrong saying that he can overclock it. You should check it out TBH.... Get you an Asus Z97 Mobo and any i5 or i7 4th gen CPU (non K) and first let ASUS's 7-Way Fan tune and auto performance utility do its magic by being very aggressive with your statement of what kind of cooling you are using on the CPU when it ask's... State that you are using a full blown AIO or WC setup ( I recommend it ) for doing this hack or you'll most likely run into blue screens.... BUT... let it run and its going to land you on all cores somewhere around the 3.9 - 4.0GHz range... NOW once you've done that the BCLK is fully unlocked as well as the power sliders and if you baby step it up on the BCLK i've got this same NON overclocking CPU Overclocked to 4.355GHz on all cores with this method. Also have gotten the i5 4670? I think it's called with the same trick jamm'n at 4.104GHz stable

I was well-aware of BCLK OCing on locked Skylake CPUs. We have several videos covering this. Never tested this with Haswell.

Can confirm. I have a ASUS Z97-A with an i7 4790 and with BLCK over clocking I can get 4200mhz at 1.15 volts. It can go higher, around 4300mhz but the voltage is about 1.2.

04:10 Yes you can overclock Haswell and Devils Canyon CPUs with a locked multiplier, especially with a good mainboard. First of all you can raise the boost clock for all cores to max frequency and then you can raise the base clock. Mind you that on a multi of x40 even a 5 MHz increase on the baseclock is going to increase the actual cpu frequency by 200 MHz on all cores... I thought you knew that Greg, if my memory serves me correct your channel started in the Haswell era and I think I actually learned about overclocking non-k Intel cpus from one of your videos.

I think the $1 PC idea is based on the fact that it shows up first, when people order the search listings with price from high to low. I usually ignore these listings. Also, just a note on the white build at 8:30 (and nice looking builds in general): I think a lot of people will pay a little extra for a sexy looking build, which is fair enough. Some people just don't know how to build a PC, others won't be bothered, or have the time to do it, and some people are just suckers for a sexy looking PC and they want it NOW! And there can be other factors, such as research, shipping costs, and delivery time for components if you decide to build your own. And I think some people will pay a little extra if the Craigslister lives close by. I think people who build PC's automatically assume that it's easy (which it is!) but for people who don't know how to do it, it seems like rocket science. When I tell my friends that I built my own PC they seem to imagine me soldering transistors together, and sparks flying everywhere, like I'm building an Iron man suit or something...

#GregSalazar I'm not sure what you were thinking at the time but the Phenom II Series CPU's are NOT The same architecture as the Piledriver or Bulldozer FX CPU's and Unlike the FX Series in which an 8 core is really more like a 4 core the Phenom II Series CPU's had FULL Real Cores, The Phenom II Series "WAS" Yes past tense one of the Best CPU's AMD ever Made until the Ryzen Series came out. It helps me approach buying parts less pensively and allows me to get my head out of solely looking at retailer's offerings and witnessing different builds for what they're worth from the different perspectives as a seller and potential buyer. Sometimes it can get tedious and fatiguing to only consider retail products at MSRP and all the mental overclocking that comes with only desiring new gear at the cheapest price possible, perhaps wasting time for a better deal that may never come, especially when so many bargains can found in the classifieds. The interconnect between AMD Ryzen CCX, Or core complexes, is called the 'Infinity Fabric'. @SaintInix6 жыл бұрын
The fact that it's running in single channel is hurting you more than 2733mhz. You're losing about 20-40% of your possible memory bandwidth by having only one stick. (Based on testing done by GamersNexus, others and personal experience) 3000mhz would be better, as would 3200mhz. However the single channel is hurting you more. Get another stick, get it into dual channel and don't worry about it unless you have extra cash or do another upgrade in the future.

I sell pc's on craigslist and haven't shown up on one of these videos yet. Not sure if that's good or bad.

What I have learned from the I read playlist, Greg is pretty funny. People on Craiglist can be pretty outrageous. I don't hate everything about life.

I clicked on the vid because I was secretly hoping Greg would highlight my Dell XPS for sale with an Intel Xeon in it.

I actually don't even deal with people who put 1 dollar. I have my price range close to what I'm willing to spend. an example would be if I'm looking to spend 1000 ill put 750-1250 or so

9900k cpu is amazing. If you are running it stock temps are fine, and gaming performance is amazing. Not to mention the price drop that it has had. I bought mine for 390$

I owned that msi 970 board too, it's not great. probably worth $25, at most now-a-days especially used.

Speaking of garbage deals, i keep finding people that try selling a pc saying there are a bunch of games included. And if i ask if they have the discs of the games they say no its steam downloads then im like...so i can have your steam account? Still overpriced stuff
