@@siptang81 I find it better than a gv80. I personally don't like the gv80 interior, and the steering wheel is just nasty. The genesis is supposed to look more luxurious while the MDX is more sporty.

@@Umerabbasi well the tlx is a much smaller vehicle compared to the mdx so it kinda makes sense for Acura to put a turbocharged 4 cylinder in the tlx

2015-2020 did get the 3.5 v6 but now 2021 is a heaver car than before and gets the 2.0t with less hp.

@@Umerabbasi The V6 was the optional engine for the previous TLX, now there's a Type-S to fill that spot. The 2.0t is much more powerful than the 2.4l 4-cyl from the previous gen

I finally LOVE Acura's interior. Their exteriors were almost always nice. Interior for someone reason was stuck in the early 2000's for awhile. Now it looks upscale & modern. Acura got its mojo back y'all!

bailey lyback the paint job is nice, however matte paint does not wear well over time.

A trick to get a matte finish is to apply a matte paint protection film.

I’ve owned two MDX. 2003 was probably our favorite vehicle of all time. Near luxury, no fluff, great engine, bulletproof until it met it’s demise when the poorly contrived combo radiator-trans cooler exploded and filled both the engine and transmission with a witches brew of trans fluid & antifreeze. Ended our joy at 140k miles. Immediately jumped into a 2014 MDX expecting the same love. Wrong! De-contented, short of most competitors, but still had that great engine. Quickly realized this model was a joke, a loss leader to get/keep you in the brand. We were so disappointed in the MDX, replaced it with two successive & awesome Audi SUV models. Hope Acura is back on track here.

Acura improving the engine, transmission, and interior is good. I only didn’t like three things I see. I want a touch screen and not that touch pad, the tail lamps doesn’t look good, and the exhaust pipe shape I don’t like. But overall a big improvement.

I think the designers truly hit the nail on the head with this model. This redesign, to me, looks like a surprisingly competent combination of the rear end of the first generation RDX, rear quarter from a current Outback, side profile of a Santa Fe, and proportions of a CX-9. I also love how Acura has kept the pointy centerline they've used since the '97 CL as a distinct design element. I just wish the new TLX had a design this well-rounded.

I'm actually pleasantly surprised with this new MDX. Much better interior with a sporty and elegant looking exterior. I severely dislike the front hood body panel line though. Makes the hood look chunky from the side angle instead of sleek. But other then that, good job Acura!

@@alexamayeobu9460 I remember Scotty saying Genesis components are wearing 5 times quicker than comparable Lexus and Acuras, you can be subjective and all, but unless the GV80 is 500% cheaper, don't think it's worth it by a long shot, at least from a maintenance standpoint, perhaps resale as well.

Prototype = Top of the line, Advance Technology Package, 21 inch rims, wide wheels with low profile tires. Production = skinny wheels with 17 inch rims, standard features, TURO/Rental/Fleet specs. :)

Looks very promising. The exterior has the Mazda CX9 vibes, which is a good thing. But you also get a naturally aspirated V6 and a few more extra touches like the panoroof! Good job Acura!

Thinking about trading in my 2019 RDX Advance for one of these... One thing that has always puzzled me - when they say a car's wheelbase has increased 3" and how that means it'll be so roomy inside, how can 3" really make that much difference?

The thing is, this is a pretty car inside and out especially when compared to the very outdated design of the current gen MDX. The problem here is mainstream Cars/SUVs are getting more and more interesting and offers features, design and presence that were then exclusive for luxury marquees only. Look at the Mazda CX-9, that thing has more presence than some luxury SUVs in the market right now. My point is, Acura should step it up a bit more to make their new cars not look like buffed up Hondas (which in reality, are) but are bespoke luxury cars just like what Toyota is mostly doing with Lexus. I mean, look at that interior; doesn't it look like an Accord interior at some degree?

I have 2018 MDX and waiting for the new model. But from what I see the new one coming out still have the same front pentagon grill shape which makes the overall front looks about the same as older model. And from what I heard the ground clearance will be lower ( instead it should be higher for SUV ) and dimensions will be wider and longer. I don’t know if it fits my garage with another car besides. I do like the new interior and the infotainment display but it needs touch screen!
