My first Integra was an '87 LS purchased new and then replaced with a '98 GS-R, also purchased new. Then I bought a new 2002 RSX Type S, my favorite of the three. A cold air intake and Hondata reflash gave the car a much better torque curve. At 10 years old, there was no new car that I preferred over my RSX so I gave it a new paint job and kept it. At 15 years old it was stolen out of my driveway to be recovered stripped of drive train, wheels and seats. I bought it back from the insurance company and intend to restore it. Meanwhile, I picked up a used bone stock 2002 RSX Type S with 236K miles and it is my daily driver. It has peeling clear coat but runs great and is a joy to drive every day. I will probably buy a new 2020 CTR later this year, but my original RSX will live again.

If it didnt you could install one. The a1 had one from factory. The UK a2 didnt. Those two regions I know for a fact. DC5 integras/rsx and ep3 civics have always had a strong reputation for upgrading using honda OEM parts from japan. So either acura USA added it or this owner go it from japan.

Why the heck do you have a Stage 2 clutch on a Factory setting RSX? And you have Kpro? You sure you didnt just remove your Turbo kit after you beat on the car and now you wanna sell it? lol... If your car is as clean as you say, I'd swap in a K24a2 and sit on it for a bit and just keep the body and interior mint. Guarantee youll be able to get $10K for it in the next few years even with that mileage on the body. My boy just sold his boosted 06 Type S for $13K. Had 120K on the body as well... Had built trans and built motor with turbo kit.. Was clean AF! There's another SUPER clean Type S selling on the RSX owners forum on FB for $12K now.. One of the cleanest builds Ive ever seen. I've had my 06 base for a little over a year. Just put basic mods on it. Exhaust intake coilovers etc. Love it, fun to drive. Definitely a good buy. Coming up on 300 and still no issues. No cel, only thing I've had to replace is the clutch. Great car.

Love the RSX, was going to get one until I looked into the RSX vs 8th Civic Si. The Si had better rear suspension as well as LSD so I opted for it, the RSX will always look better to me though. Need a review of FBO tuned FA5/FG2!

I have one too, im thinkin CAI, full exhaust for fbo, did you do anything else like Throttle body? Etc
@danielnelson48814 жыл бұрын
@@williamnguyen2392 Naw. Get yourself a long tube header+ the rest of the exhaust, Cold air intake, kpro, maybe an intake mani and some mild cam action if you're feeling it.. Then get it dyno tuned with the kpro and you'll be sitting pretty. Tune is the biggest thing though really. The lower Vtec engagement especially helps you not fall out of Vtec from 1st to 2nd without having to go past redline.

2-step? Why the F would you have 2-step on a bolt-on RSX? That has to be on eof the dumbest things I ever heard... First off, "2-step" is not something you want on your car. It is harmful to the motor and the Manifold.. 2-step setups should be reserved for track cars. If you have 2-step on a street car, you are likely just using it to showoff. I can understand some boosted examples making alot of power using it when they are street racing, but a bolt on NA RSX does not need 2-step LMAO.. If you cant launch a car that slow without the aid of 2-step you shouldnt be driving a manual.

I love my rsx! I bought it for 1300 dollars 3 years ago and I still have it! It’s one of those base models 5 speed manuals and it may not be fast but I still love it! It feels so raw and it has never broken down on me! You and I actually met at the skatepark a few years ago when you first bought your Integra. Honestly you were my favorite KZbinr I’ve ever met!
@adalmadera253 жыл бұрын
To me it seem like those models are better. You get cheaper insurance and you have the opportunity to upgrade the drivetrain to a type s without paying for the type s insurance. Also I believe since those engines are detuned they outlast the type s engines. Just for that reason I somewhat wish I had bought the base model with the manual transmission.
@jesselee44052 жыл бұрын
@@adalmadera25 not true. the base has camshaft issues. The type s has no issues.

I just bought my first RSX 2003 5 speed base model, a month ago for $3,500 it has 80,000 original miles and clean Carfax no accidents. Same interior black leather seats as the car in your video. I got to say, even though it’s not a type-s everything you described in this video is exactly what I’ve had to say about my car. Except for the motor ; the type-s motor is more zippier . And the aftermarket support is endless. So far my plans are to do a front end conversion to 05/06 . I’m going to leave the backend the same but get new taillights and then have a body shop do the whole cars paint. Will be also be redoing the tints and music system. Who else got a base manual??

I've owned my 05 type s since 2014 and it is hard to argue against owning a car like this. I have not been able to find a replacement car that can take its spot in my heart lol.

Maybe a Civic Type R if I can afford one. You just can't beat the versatility of a hatchback.
@TheGreg1294 жыл бұрын
@@Shorty15c4007 I've been pondering a Type R, but considering I want a family and that bench in the rear is missing the middle seat with a seat belt is turning me off to it. Maybe a rear bench swap with the regular civic hatch? But I still wouldn't want to replace my Dc5 tbh.

@@TheGreg129 I'm planning on having 1-2 kids. My fiance has a 4Dr 2019 Civic Sport, so if we need to road trip, we can use her car. But I'll be keeping my RSX for as long as I can. Already have 224K miles on it and I'm getting ready to swap a K24. My pop's had a 86' Dodge Daytona Turbo Z and we used to road trip to the beach, a family of 5 in that. Honestly having a Type R would be more than enough to haul some kids. It's pretty roomy in the back seat.

Had an RSX type-S 03 in the blue. I loved the shit out of that car and it really held it’s value. When about 5K RPM and the cam would change over, the kick in the ass feeling felt so good driving to work. This is an amazing series and represents allot of what’s now lost in Hondas. Their cars are devoid of personality by comparison nowadays. And in anything under an Si, the shifters are NOT feeling as good AT ALL!

I remember taking a new RSX-S for a test drive as an upgrade to my current 1998 tuned Civic DX hatch. Loved the power delivery from Type-S engine, but handling ability of my current Civic was on a different level that the RSX could not match.

I own one of these and due to how the suspension is setup if you lower it without the heavily recommended support mods it really screws up the suspension geometry and makes it handle worse. Unless you only care about aesthetics I would avoid it or get something like A spec suspension from Honda
