The screw on the anemometer tower (below the wind cups) is an access point for oil, to lubricate the anemometer shaft. I use light synthetic clock oil. Just a couple of drops.

Where's the link you mentioned?? What model is this please?

great video, but why don't the pc don't connect to the indoor unit anymore?
@Clintwoodz7 жыл бұрын
You should coat some vaseline around the pipe below the station to prevent spiders crawling up and making cobwebs. They can't climb up vaseline. Great trick for security cameras too

Does this unit only measure 1 inch of rain a day ? I believe that is what the booklet reads.

" The unit should be in the house" ???? How can the display get any outside readings if the unit is inside...????
@stevepowsinger7332 жыл бұрын
I guess this is about like the currenT model. I don’t know anything about he Smarthub thing. I read the Weather underground’s link is discontinued but don’t think I need it. I would imagine using a 10 ft pole to simply maintenance but I couldn’t see the bubble level (it is a matter of leveling the pole). Hope this is still monitored. 😎From Fla.

It's not a self leveler, it's a level indicator, you have to level the unit yourself.

@@unboxedreviews361 How did you check the level when attaching to tower?
@bennettsvillescweathercam85556 жыл бұрын
High quality Lithium batteries are good for temps. -4F/-20C to + 158F.+70C. Anything above that -4F/-20C, a good (name brand) Alkaline battery is all you need. Which is good for the same +158F/+70C. They last a long, long time, over a year. Thanks for the video.

Very interesting!!!! Will certainly look into this, thank you for the information, also my two lasted longer than the weather station. (1.5ish years).

@unboxedreviews3617 жыл бұрын
The mic itself can be found here amzn.to/2t7NZMd The stand is separate and can be found here amzn.to/2u0S2wR (or an identical version more or less).
Warning - AcuRite has already announced they will discontinue all support and block this smarthub device from reporting effective August 31, 2018.

They switched from SmartHub, to AcuRite Access Hub, to allow connecting to other services, than Weather Underground. The new model is 09155M.

Hello, Can you give me some help, I do not understand. The Power Adapter for smartHUB, what is the input voltage? 120v or 120-240v? Because I'm from Portugal and I'm afraid the Power Adapter does not work here and I have to buy another if that does not work. Thank you very much
@unboxedreviews3617 жыл бұрын
+Gonçalo Gil 100-240v 60/50hz on the wall plug, the hub itself runs off 5v (adapted from the wall plug). Wall plug is a two prong plug you would find in any USA household.

The "tower" the Acurite was mounted on was - upside down... oops.
@unboxedreviews3615 жыл бұрын
Not an oops, but it is indeed upside down (on purpose). Sometimes things aren't as weird as they seem.

galvanized pipe+outdoor= Lightning! unless you're connected a lightning rod and grounded that pipe I would stay with a PVC pipe attached to it otherwise you're just asking for lightning to come through that pipe and whatever structure it's attached too.

Not true, there are other benefits to lithium batteries besides their resilience in cold climates.
