thank you so much for having a real patient and for explaining the "why" so well. Far more helpful than watching videos of UE tests performed on people with no issues

You are welcome! My goal is to help students and new grads see some of the stuff you may not see in class and put a few pearls from experience in there also. Please spread the word. Thanks.

Recently injured and found your channel for some at home tests (I will go to Dr if symptoms continue). Thank you for the information and thank you to all the patients willing to be filmed to see their reactions for the evaluations.

Thank you Michael! Good luck with your appointment. This guy actually did quite well and regained full function in about 2 weeks. It's amazing at how inflammation can look like a full cuff tear.

5:31 if there is a tear, what do you actually do with the gentleman. A splint, surgery or different approach to exercise?? I'm unsure

Unable to perform S flex. AROM but has full pain free PROM. Is this classic for rotator cuff injuries in the acute phase?
@OrthoEvalPal4 жыл бұрын
Yes, but not always. This one looks really bad right?? He was done with me in about 2 weeks with full pain free AROM and strength. Had a severely inflamed cuff. Going to throw this out at you in case you are interested. www.meorthopedicseminars.com/shop/comprehensive-evaluation-and-management-of-shoulder-dysfunction/

From your clinical experience what do you trust more for diagnosing rotator cuff tears: the special tests or direct palpation of the tendons?
@OrthoEvalPal4 жыл бұрын
I'll put it in order of how I like to evaluate shoulders...1. MMT 2. Special Tests 3.AROM 4. MOI 5. Palpation. Great question
@jordanchang93482 жыл бұрын
@@OrthoEvalPal I noticed you like to palpate the bicipital groove area. Is there a reason you like to palpate this area versus others? Are there any other areas you like to palpate during your shoulder exam? Are there areas you do not place a lot of emphasis during palpation?

I've had a shoulder injury, my Xray and MRI are normal. My shoulder looks fine but as soon as I work with it, it starts paining, also I can hear a crack sound coming from the joint while rotating my shoulder. What to do ? Which physio exercises to do to get over it?

You may have injured a nerve. There is a lot going on. You need to see a medical provider an identify where the issue is coming from.
