I had a cold and i got better went out with my friends a few days later and one of them had tonsillitis , i ended up catching it , where i find it near on impossible to swallow, eat, drink , also have pain on my left near my jaw and a earache now and then plus the troubling of sleeping . As soon as I got into my room I slumped onto my bed (can’t lie, that slump felt so good) but good god was I weak. I thought it was a symptom from lack of energy from not eating but it was just the beginning stages of the pain I’d later endure

@@erondesu7530 Yes. It is improving today. Although my tonsils are still puffed up, it's not as painful as the days before. Ibuprofen+paracetamol with every meal, and gargling with warm salt water at least 3 times a day really helps. Nothing cold and oily down the throat. Mostly porridge and boiled egg diet. When the pain was too much, I just drink hot water the whole day because it soothes the pain a little. As for the chills, I put on my winter gear (cap, gloves, two layers of sweater, socks, two layers of blankets) and a heating pad for the sore leg muscles. Usually the chills go away 2-4 hours after taking the medicine. Hope this helps!

@@iwastubed96 absolutely helps! I just discovered taking paracetamol before eating DOES help alot. The main thing for my tonsilities though is the swallowing part, it's still pretty hard. I'm around on my 4th day and still have quite the trouble speaking. But I hope the both of us get better soon! And thanks for the warm salt water gargling 3x a day. I'll be doing that and see if it helps. I only do it like once or twice a day so far.

I've had endless infections this year: three urinary infections, several influenza like viruses, (each lasting at least a couple of weeks) an abscess, Strep Throat at least three times, anemia, chronic vitamin d deficiency, mild hyperthyroidism and last but not least i've had surgery to remove what turned out to be high grade precancerous cells from my cervix. ... However my Lupus like illness has mostly behaved itself👍which means next Summer I'll probably be on steroids non stop for it! 😆 ............... Thank you for the information. This is my first time having this. I don’t have the flu or strep but I do have a fever of 102. My legs are so achy and restless my throat is swollen and I have a bump on one side of my neck from swollen lymph nodes. I’ve felt sick since Saturday today is Monday. I just started my antibiotics so hopefully I heal quickly. Gargled with warm salt water and it helped a lot.

Also gargling 3-4 times with hot water and salt added in it helps a lot! It helps recover if it is normal (2 or 3 stones are showing)

I went to an urgent care and told the doctor my right tonsil has white spots on it and he said he saw nothing. I went home that same day took pictures and sent it to family members and they could clearly see it. Luckily the doctor still gave me antibiotics but it’s day three and I’m still in lots of pain. Let me update you on this: It's nothing, it hasn't changed at all during all this time, but my epiglottis has been feeling swollen, which might be the result of using too much salt on the warm saltwater, it could also have been a bad candy, either way if you're not getting fevers or colds then it's no big deal. If you're still unsure I suggest gargling with a spoonful of hydrogen peroxide (oxigenated water), 10 volumes, don't fucking swallow the stuff, gargle for 15 seconds, let the foam work and spit it out.

I have -sore throat -fever -headache -difficulty in swallowing -weakness - a little bit of chestpain I can't figure out what I'm suffering from right now. Just a single symptom that differ is jaw pain. I do have ear and jaw pain. (Apology for bad English)

I think it’s normal, every time I pushed up saliva from my throat and spit, it would contain a tiny bit of blood. No complications, nothing. Don’t let it scare you:)))

We’re you taking any antibiotics? I remember being desperate due to the pain and took way too many Tylenol. I felt so nauseous and had an upset stomach. I also felt very hot or cold (chills) but I think that’s from the tonsillitis

This inflamed my tonsils and gave me a huge canker sore on the site of the infection. It is called pericoronitis and I had to get my wisdom teeth taken out and take a anti infection medicine for about a week before it completely healed

I was in hospital because i found my tonsil is big, not really massive just big and my throat is red around my second tonsil is normal or just looks like a bit of it popping out, they checked my blood they did some swaps on my throat, i am not sure how long i had tonsil but i had no symptoms at all then i figure out tonsil i was 4 days on tea and paracetamol but nothing help, 5th day in work i was in work around 4 am i was suffering from unable to breath and get enough oxygen so i was in hospital they gave me antibiotics in vein and i was able to breath, but now i am on my 6th day of penicillin but my throats is still red and my tonsil still same size

My doctor did one of those quick test for strep A (7mins) and it came up negative..? But i have all the symptoms (trouble swallowing, White streaks, swollen lymph nodes, pain in ear) I’m on the Z pack now but I’m just still in so much pain

김별이 the day after I posted this I went to another doctor who basically told me the antibiotic I was on wasn’t gonna work and prescribed me something else. So I was in pain for days waiting for a medicine that would never kick in! Lol I’m better now after the new meds.. I’ll be on these for a while

김별이 no I’m allergic to that! He prescribed me Clindamycin instead. Most anti biotics kick in after 3days and it’s terrible. I took pain killers to keep my fever down, try that!

i’ve been to the doctor, my symptoms stopped the day i went except for my massive tonsils. was put on antibiotics but the size only went down slightly, they grew again, this time with no symptoms. put myself on antibiotics for a couple days again and they went down a little and are returning to their normal color and texture. still pretty huge though

am a hypochondriac(fear of diseases) and I found out my left tonsil (idk if I'm using the right term but the portion below my left ear and at the end of jaw is what I meant to say)bigger than other I freaked out and went to a doctor who said it's a bacterial infection and prescribed antibiotics so I took those antibiotics but they did not work so I freaked out even more (I kept on touching that area a lot though) and went to another doctor who said I've got a low grade bacterial tonsilitis and both of the tonsils are swollen just left one is more swollen and I'm on antibiotics again for the last 4 days and I felt my right one bigger too but the left one is bigger than right one and it's moving like i can feel it while flexing my jaw or stretching my head upwards....I don't have any other symptoms like pain,fever, difficulty in swallowing food etc but the bump isn't going away I'm shitscared can you please tell me what should I do in this situation??because I have this for the last 2 weeks almost.
