Fabulous Melissa Bonny was born and grew up in the french speaking part of Switzerland, started singing in the swiss symphonic folk metal band Evenmore and was part of trance metal band Rage of Light before she started Ad Infinitum as a solo project. Eventually she left Rage of Light to concentrate on Ad Infinitum for which she writes the lyrics and music but needed musicians who would fit to her vision of this project. She found Adrian, Niklas and Korbinian who had all studied music at different German universities and so the band was born. Besides Ad Infinitum and her previous bands, Melissa can also be heard on some colabs with other bands like Warkings or on the cover song "Ding" by German medieval folk metal band Feuerschwanz. From this cooperation the complete new band The Dark Side of the Moon emerged made of Melissa Bonny (vocals), Hans Platz (Guitarist, Feuerschwanz), Jenny Diehl (Harp, Feuerschwanz) and Melissas partner Morten Løwe Sørensen (Drums, Amaranthe). The origin of this brand new band is a bet between Melissa and Hans about which video would hit 1 million views on YT first, "Ding" by Feuerschwanz or "Marching on Versailles" by Ad Infinitum. Hans won the bet and Melissa had to do a song with him. Hans did some Game of Thrones songs before and so he asked her to do "Jenny of Oldstones" from GoT season 8 episode 3 with him. They were joined by Jenny Diehl from Feuerschwanz and Melissas boyfriend Morten Sorensen from Amaranthe and recorded a demo version which they sent to Napalm Records. Napalm liked it so much that they signed them as a new band. Currently they are working on an album consisting of originals and cover songs from TV-series, films and video games.

@@WillVafuth Oh, of course I know that. I was a big fan of Seeed at that time. But when I read my comment now I realize my mistake. I thought it was OK, because I mentioned that "Ding" is a cover but forgot to add that it is originally by Seeed and that Feuerschwanz just took it, "metallized" it a bit and Melissa added her incredible vocals (clean and harsh) to it. Sorry, for not being precise in the first comment. *sigh*

Hi Beth, you’re late at the party but very welcome ! Ad Infinitum’s first album was very symphonic metal, their second is more diverse, including djenty riffs, nasty metal core breakdowns etc. Melissa is Swiss, Adrian, Nik & Korbi are German. And yes, Melissa can both sing like a songbird and growl like a beast. All musicians are freaking good. A pretty good rabbit hole, I promise. Tschuss !

What stands out to me is Melissa's smoothness in her voice, it's like her vocal cords are made out of untearable silk! Speaking of great new things - have you ever heard of MARMOR? It's a multimedia project (most artists are from brazil), that features fantasy literature, theater performances, etc and they also released their first fantasy rock opera album about 7 years ago.. yesterday they were finally putting out new music (a music video), which i enjoyed a lot. Definitely you should check out the howl album chapter 2 legacy. Ad Infinitum is (IMO) the best new metal band in the last 10 years. Chapter 1 came out last year. (My) album of the year. Chapter 2 came out a couple months ago. (My) album of the year again! From Chapter 1 you may want to check out the music videos for "Marching on Versailles" and "See You In Hell". From Chapter 2, "Animals" and "Afterlife" are great picks and music videos. Great reaction, would like to see what you pick next!

Ad Infinitum are very Amazing and the Album Chapter l Monarch and Chapter ll Legacy are Awesome! Melissa sing with her clean Voice and also Harsh Vocals/growls! Imo i love when she sing clean!
