I'm so glad that you had this conversation with both Kora and Ava, giving you their perspective on their new schools compared to their previous schools in Nigeria. Please the only advice I can give is to be on top of their learning now more than you already were when you were in Nigeria, otherwise, you'll find that the girls will get so laid back with their learning (start picking up that carefree attitude of there's no consequences when work is not done or completed). You'll also find that the teachers will keep telling you that the children are doing great in school when they're actually falling behind. I know you're a hands on mum, however you'll need to do extra at home with them...reading, spellings, story writing, maths. You'll be surprised how advanced Kora and Ava are going to be compared to their classmates in terms of reading, writing and spellings. It's down to us parents to keep pushing our children at home and not rely on the teachers "positive feedback" about your child/ren's academic performance. Congratulations on them starting school and may their school year be filled with success. Wishing you and your family all the best always.

You really covered key areas in primary education to watch out for. Especially teachers reassuring parents the child is doing fine even when they score 1/10.

I think it’s also the mindset of Nigerians and the values they instil in their children. I’m a Nigerian born and raised in the diaspora and I can say many Nigerian kids raised over here excel as well. So it’s not just about Nigerian education.

I live in the US i also have families that lives in the UK see Adaeze i think i should let you know this because i think you should know..... Kora thinks teacher's in the Uk are nice...😄 because she did not finish her work and they're not saying anything.... yes the teachers might look nice yes it is true that they won't say or scold a child for anything or they're welcoming please my dear don't be carried away with all of that very few of them are genuily nice.... trust me before you know it at the end of a quarter or term or whatever they call it in the Uk you will then find out that the child's grade is realy low compare to before whatever the child is doing is being recorded and it will always reflect in there report cards and school records the only time they can talk about it is when you have parent teacher conference meeting and you complain or worried about your child's grade that' s when they will tell you how your child has been abandorning his or her work please take note of this and work on it .... anyways i trust you..... i must say your kids are smart .....may God help them.... with love from me to your family...❤❤❤❤

Mwandie Adaeze I laughed at how you said whose gonna edit uuumm lol 😂. Girl I understand and I am aware how this move is definitely a 360 degrees turn around for you and your family. And I know you are having to adjust yourself in that new environment. Honestly I have to say, when you posted a video my sister literally texted me saying hey Adaeze has posted a long video and it’s 35mins, I said now we talking lol. I have watched this video from start to finish. But don’t mind us, we will watch, we will support, how ever you drop them….. because it’s not easy, taking care of home, kids, relocation and coming from where every th ing you could delegate to house helps, to you doing everything!! But We are here, we ain’t going no where lol. A lot I would want to say. But the best I would say is, in this UK you will Blossom 🌼!!! In this UK you will flourish and grow, your children will prosper and find Favour in any place they go!! You are Loved and you have no idea.. You are amazing. Your authentic self, shines and shows on screen. Today I have been satisfied. I felt like a had a full dose of Adaeze. Thank you beautiful you are amazing. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I work as a teaching assistant in the UK, and I have worked as a classroom teacher in Nigeria. Ada you can’t compare the two learning environments, they have their cons and pros…..The discipline and learning attitude in schools in the UK is nothing compared to that of the Nigeria. She’s right about the 4 times ground playground time, not finishing your work is an option in the UK .Biko I prefer the Nigeria schools if you can afford the good and quality schools..😢

I think it depends on the School , my daughters School is very academic (state primary School) . If you don't do your homework you will stay during break times and finish it ,but if the Work started at school you can leave it and go and play and visit it again . If the child is not doing well or falling behind , they will tell you sha ( diplomatically😅)

(God could be using your life to give hope to someone) Some of us are mentoring others and so no detail is unnecessary. Sharing details for example about why the young ladies😊 are in different schools will give knowledge and clarity as well as solidarity to those who will eventually walk that path. Share any details as long as you are comfortable. It will help somebody, somewhere, someday.. Cheers. 😘😘😘😘😘
