Mirjam needs to get her own channel and show us how to make her cheese. 🧀
@andrewj98318 ай бұрын
Agree... Does she get milk from certain cows, is that why different cheese taste different, etc. However then she will need to "add" to the video's her farm duties (like Neline, Jan) and would that be too much? I would love to see the parents get a channel...

I strongly support this idea seen a practice come into a strong product is so exciting. Please think about doing your own channel regarding your journey as cheese supremacy.

Some really great shots Neline with the drone and was great to have the up date with Mirjam on the cheese making. I used to spend a lot of time in the Netherlands in the 80s, and always brought Gouda home with me as its was always way better than what I could source locally, and I love cheese and have it every day. Once she has production up and running, I hope that she will be able to ship it to Scotland. Thanks.

Been a Fan of Sandi Brock and Mark for many years now so no surprise you are too Neline! You have gotten really good on your Drone Filming too! I'm quite sure once you get past any mental blocks, you will be just fine! Always appreciate how you have a touch or a squeeze or a loving word for ALL of your animals on The Family Farm! Great to see and hear about the progress Mirjam is making on her Cheese Quest! I did perk up when she mentioned she is going to work with spices soon! YUM! I have always loved Spicy Cheese and Pepper Jack style flavorings too! The Hotter, The Better! WOOHOOOOOOO MOO From COW-lumbus, Ohio and Happy Easter To ALL who pasture in The Dairy On The Prairie Community! 👋

Mirjam, the ones you are only half satisfied with, how about letting them cure to become "Oude Kaas"? 🤔 That sort was my favourite the few years I lived in the Netherlands. Hard as stone but oh soooo good! 👍 The girls in the store couldn't cut it so I was sometimes asked to go behind the counter to apply my 100+kg on the knife. 😱

Thank you for another great video. Happy Easter to your hole family. Been a fan of Sandy from the beginning. Like that you are trying new shots with the dron, zooming out and up is easyer on eyes and don't pan fast. If you have birds in the cow barn the dron should not bother them, Sandy has lots of birds. Sone Farms dose good dron footage also. Just takes time. 🐇❤️🙏

Hi Neline, your single calf pens are great for starting the calf's off on milk and grain. The area is always clean and tidy which is a credit to your family on their ways of operating the dairy. I am a fan of Sandi Brook too and she would be happy that you are copying her drone work to enhance you content. The drone work was a good new element today, we could see you working with calves from a different angle plus looking at the new roof on your barn from above and the goats from above at the end. Your sister seems to be turning out some nice chesse and like most things practice is a key to getting it the way she wants. Thanks for the video. Chris from Australia 🇦🇺.

I think based on your KZbin channel as well as Jan’s, that’s all the advertising your sister’s cheese will need. I’d buy some but shipping across the border to the U.S. is probably expensive. Please keep us posted on that and let us know when the list starts for cheese orders. I’d like to help support her if possible. The calves are adorable as usual. I’d still love to help you feed them. I enjoyed feeding my calves 40 years ago. *sigh* How time flies.

In Jan’s channel, he commented that it would be at least a year before they had the production facilities, and not the shower room. Plus the necessary permits and formulas. So right now they are still in the learning stage.

Drone footage. Nice. Love the 'Silver' barn roof. I am so glad you did Not put on a 'Red Roof.' >> Beautiful > Beautiful > Great choice.....a 'Silver' roof. That color roof will match anything. It is perfectly matched to the color of your barn for now. Nice Job! Painting the Barn > a Dark, dark G r e y....or Tin.....would be perfect. Google images > Look up > dark grey barn with a silver roof. > Gorgeous. "The big Grey Barn."

Mirjam, I missed seeing how you get that orange outer shell onto your cheese: is it just a wax substance that you paint on? I remember decades ago coming back to Canada from Holland with a small round block of Edam cheese: that wax-like edible thin cardboard-like outer protective layer tasted so good that I ate it all off before eating the cheese! The customs guy looked in the plastic bag and said what's this? I said, a large mouse ate off the surface of my cheese.

Drone flying amongst the cows: I would try at first flying just above the noisy skidsteer (using "follow me mode" if you've got it), like that maybe getting them used to the idea that the buzzing thing is not a giant horsefly (perhaps being the reason why they tend to spook out causing a stampede). Who has got 20k+ subs? 🤔 Well done! 👍

Can I ask what drone you use? Thinking of buying one myself ( DJI Mini 4 pro )? Interesting Mirjam is finding the cheese dry. Two things come to mind, too high a pressing pressure or too long a final press. She will get it dialed in I am sure. I have been smoking cheese for around 20 years now and have always wanted to make some. I even bought the rennet but could not decide on store bought milk? Now that Sunnyside is selling bulk milk I am going to wait until their cows are out on the grass and give it a go. If my cheese turns out dry I guess I would just have to eat it then. 😊 LOL

It will be for sale in a couple of years most likely. The goal is to hopefully build a cheese making facility and sell cheese off farm, but there are a LOT of regulations and hoops to jump through so it’s going to take a while.
