The more I listen to this and watch it, the more I love it. It's fascinating how Adam's voice changed over the years. I think he worked hard at it. He's a brilliant vocalist, dancer, guitarist, composer, actor, abd entertainer. He's one of the greats.

for those who were asking, this was mid/late UK punk.. like 79 if I had to put a year on it. Still very much punk and Adam and the Ants had a hardcore punk following back then.. of course they went more commercial a couple of years later, well who wouldn't when offered fame and money.. not that they saw much of the money

I have to add, I was lucky enough to actually meet him last month & have a nice chat. What a lovely man! And he looks amazing. Sure, he's colouring his hair & covering his baldness with hats, but I'd give anything to have skin that's aged as well as his!

For those who were around at the time there was only ever one Adam and Ants with a cult underground following, Stuart Goddard ( Adam), Andy Warren (bass), Marc Ryan (guitar) Dave Barbe (drums). There was a decadent edge to them never recaptured. RIP Adam and the Ants

Yeah, I've seen him lately. Up close. And about to see him again in a few weeks. He looks fucking brilliant. He's close to 60 & has aged much better than many others younger than him (have you seen Peter Murphy lately?). As to your other comment above, Adam didn't drink or do drugs, unlike most "pop stars", which I imagine is why he's able to come back & tour like a mad man again, after all these years, & look better than most doing it.

Is saw Adam Ant and Billy Idol back in 1981 or 1982 I believe it was have to dig my ticketstub and I aslo have 2 tee-shirts form that concert. I was 8 or 9. It was at Nassau Collesium on Valentines Day..I think ti was 1982 because I had seen concert footage of the Japn Tour and I think that was in 1981..Whatever..The Concert was called the Valentines Day Massacre..I practically ahd to go on a hunger strike to get my dad to tak emy best friend and I but tke us he did and we went wild. AWESOME!

Raw and simplistic. Punk Rock was about attitude not musical refinement. If you didn't like it, well, basically, you weren't meant to and we're glad you didn't. My all time favourite Adam and the Antz recording... 'Whip in my Valise'. 'Lady' is a close second I think. Bring back Kilts and Kabuki face and when you pick up your guitar... think Punk!

Kenny Morris was only standing in. Some of the Decca and Jubilee demos have come out - Hampstead from the Jubilee demos and Bathroom Function, Rubber People, Boil In The Bag Man and Song For Ruth Ellis (the last 2 playing slowly) all came out on the Antbox box set in 2000. Fall In and bits of Christian Dior, both also Decca demos, appeared on the soundtrack of the 2015 concert DVD Dirk Live At The Apollo. The Jubilee demo of Dirk Wears White Socks came within a hair's breadth of appearing on a cancelled 2006 DVD, the same one that this and several other videos on this channel were due to appear on.

Anybody else go, or know where I can find footage of that concert. I have been trying to find some everywhere!!! I had great seats on the aisle. If I remember correctly it was general admission.. My parents are very button down though open minded but this "music" as they called it was bizzare but they let me have my fill of it :) PARTY ON!

The director is -probably- DEREK JARMAN. This appeared on "Jubilee" (1978). And so did Adam, for a good portion of the film.

Jarman was not present for this video shoot. This is briefly glimsed on a TV set in the punk gang's flat in the film. Another performance of Plastic Surgery. filmed at Drury Lane Theatre and which Jarman DID work on, appears elsewhere in the film.
