Adam is such a humble dude, despite his seemingly-crazy life he has come out as such a great role model for us all.

He is such a lovely, sweet and generous man. Disgusting how the media has treated him for being ill but not those who do drugs and drink and other such things.

It wasn't that he didn't "let the illness beat him, " but that he was fortunate enough for the illness to not be more severe. I hate when people place healing entirely on the person, as if it's a choice whether to function or survive.
@KarmasAbutch3 жыл бұрын
@@sarcasticallyrearranged Thank you! Some People didn’t“let” PTSD end in their suicide either...like they were lazier or weaker than those who made it through ... so fkn insulting . This idea that mental health just requires a stiff upper lip to overcome is as ridiculous as expecting to control Blood sugar by having a positive attitude instead of using insulin for Diabetes. He was also fortunate enough to have way more access to resources, support and better quality care than “isolated/ unknown / ordinary” people could ever hope to. Because being everybody’s cash cow doesn’t allow him to fall through the cracks in our mental health system unseen and unmissed. People dont simply CHOOSE TO BE BEATEN by illness, or not.

10 yrs ago they had pet therapy on psychiatric units but it depends on the type of unit (voluntary or involuntary) and the population at the time (people coming off drugs and angry or violent psychotic people) to ensure the safety of the therapy dog.

Very impressed with him even more than when I was a silly girl in love with him. He is still gorgeous and he hasn't fallen into the same traps as many in his business. Calling Johnny Depp a rapscallion made me laugh out loud. I hope he tours Canada.

I spent time in a Mental rehab facility, a 96 hour hold. I was sent hours away from my home and stuck a floor where the nurses seemed like they never heard of empathy and patients who looked like they felt neglected. The staff made anti-semitic comments and the whole situation was absurd to me. I took their pills and I did whatever they said though because I wanted to get out of there, I felt like I would go insane if they kept treating me like I was insane.

@Jacobus1806708 жыл бұрын
more time and respect for him now than back then, he was a sell-out unfortunately to the original PuNk Logic.........but he's returned back to the damn site more stylish rocker many of us of an older generation would love to be.
@Jacobus1806708 жыл бұрын
PS - PuNk in fairness was on the decline when he joined the scene so he had little choice in terms of making it big but to adopt a different approach.

Such a nice guy. Thankfully, I never had any mental health issues ( though my wife would probably disagree) but it doesnt take first hand experience of an institution to see that there is something very very wrong with our attitudes to the problem. A friend of mine is a psychiatrist, even he admits he feels like a pez dispenser most days. Once he commented that he sometimes thinks the clinic would be better off converting to a vending machine and renting the rest of the space hehe.

Now I know where Hollywood got the pirate look for Johnny Depp. I like Adam Ant growing up listening to him back in the 80's. What I understand, Adam is a much nicer than Johnny Depp. I would love to meet him, plus I am getting ready to watch "Love Bites" which I honestly didn't know about until now.

Sometimes I wonder if he ever gets tired of interviewers taking it right to his struggles with bipolar. I know it's an important subject, but sometimes it seems like the media wants to discuss it for it's sensationalism. . .
