It was over the moment they left Spotify and then Joe kept dismissing Rory when he was in his bag on the pod. When Rory was talking about his therapy and spiritual journey, Joe acted like a complete asshole. When Joe wanted to be “spiritual” and talk about his therapy he would make everyone shut up and listen.

2 things. 1.) Joe was ALWAYS preaching about paying the creator, doing right by your people, being transparent. And literally was the biggest hypocrite ever with this situation. 2.) they never really quote Joe, but he legit said "I dont owe you guys any respect. I dont owe my friends respect" and also said the business side of the pod was none of their business which he apologized for, but his actions show how he really felt. He felt they were replaceable and those are his FRIENDS. I was a listener for years, went to the live show. But when you show us over and over and over again the type of person you are why listen. Dudes ego and narcissism is too much and his disrespect for his actual real life friends makes it so i cant support a person like that. Hopefully he learns from this but if you look at his track record, hes the problem in every business situaiton his whole career. But always places blame on something else. Do better

From the stories it seemed like Mal was always there for Joe even lived with him, parks as well was always around, but they adopted Rory as their little brother! Rory for dam near a yr was crying on that podcast he was physically & emotional sick going through some things in his personal life. Sometimes on the Pod he would open up about it. What ya needed to do was reach out to that man & talk with him privately. Joe talks all that issh about Therapy well you should have seen ya little brother was struggling & should have reached out to his brother. instead of jumping in a live talkin crazy.. how many times you stand up over Mal talkin about you was gonna fuck him up throughout the last 5 yrs. That situation is jacked up & this coming from a day 1 fan A dude who bought the Joe Budden album at the end of my freshman year in highschool. Loyal listeners not seeing Joe’s position is weird to me. Loyal listeners seen that Rory and Mal contribution wasn’t as impactful as they’re making it seem. The strange thing about them being "fired" is that in Rory and Mal's (The Job Hunt) video, Rory asked "How do you get fired AFTER you quit?" And Mal's response was "Now you know how it feels." Seems like Joe didn't actually fire them for real. His firing rant was a show. So rewatching Joe "fire" the other side of a couch and a high chair honestly looks scary.

Yeah….Van don’t know what he is talking about here. He got talking points mixed, is what I mean. Rory and Mal were entitled to accounting…it was in their contracts. They were supposed to receive it quarterly as apart of their partnership sharing agreement, which is pretty standard. Joe acknowledged this. The issue was that they never received papers after 2019 and even then it had an error. But even without the error, it was insufficient as it wasn’t a full record of cash flows from the business, but, rather a 5 line item excel spreadsheet. An excel spreadsheet with 4 line items is not books. When they asked for copies after Rory found the $400k mistake, it was always an issue, with Joe getting upset. So their contract until a few months ago, was never fully honored. What Joe you was referring to in respect to not being able to show them paperwork on, was the Spotify deal specifically. He said he wasn’t supposed to discuss the terms of the contract with Spotify which creates a difficult situation when you are in a partnership agreement where you are also contractually obligated to provide your business partners with accounting details on everything - outflows and inflows -, that pertain to the pod. Van sipping that Joe narrative.

Now can you keep those people coming back is something else. Like Van said, let's wait some time and see what happens. I think they've let it be known they don't want to just focus on a podcast and they have a ton of other media to showcase. So far they have 200k+ views in 1 day on the first episode Joes recent episode is at about 130k+ views in 3 days. So I guess we will see.

I loved the JBP....I still like it, but they spend way too much time talking about shit nobody gives a fuck about. I'm tired about contract talks, list talks, or how old somebody is talks. Stick to the funnies. Stop tryna have a serious podcast. It isn't that. That was never why people listened. People listen because Joe is funny, and the dynamic of Rory and Mal bouncing off eachother only added to it. Also for the music review deep dives...which...are usually FUNNY. Ice and Ish are not funny. they contribute almost nothing. Their contribution is Joe clowning on them. Joe has no one that will clown on HIM anymore. There's no balance anymore. I can only ever listen to the first hour before it gets fucking boring now. Joe and Ish argue with eachother like they both smoked weed for the first time. @@JeoJetsonmusic yeah. Both of their conversations acknowledged Rory asked for ownership and was told no. As far as Mal, he wanted control, which comes with ownership, and was offended when Joe told him the business of the network isn’t his. He’s an employee who gets paid based based on a profit share. He felt that was disrespectful, which i understand, but based on the undertones of they statements, they felt some kind of way about not having ownership or control. Which i totally understand.
