Adam is always delightful to hear speak publicly, but that was above even his standard. He really put deep thought into this presentation. it's so inspiring to see someone at that level wearing his heart on his sleeve for the people.

This must also hit home personally for Adam, after losing his Uncle/Father figure Chris Beach in 2016, and his Uncle's foster son who took his own life in 2005. Adam is a WONDERFUL person, and I have read that his Uncle Chris Beach was a really great man too. Very kind people.

Jenny,Adam lost his pregnant mom from a drunkin driver,then his dad drowned a couple weeks later( maybe suicide) and he and his brothers moved in with his grandmother and then uncle at a very young age.Yes,he has been through a rather traumatizing life himself.

Lovely speech!! Adam is seriously such an amazing person, leader, and (it seems like) friend! Does anyone know where I can keep up with his projects? Or in general if there's a reliable website with updates of Indigenous peoples&film? (besides APTN)?

Adam you hit the nail on the head. I am not Indian, but I have seen through the same lens of which you are speaking. Not through experience, but just seeing the BS for myself . You know bringing up the fact of Indian people being only the back drop of Hollywood. I always saw that and also when you were in suicide squad you hardly got any screen time. Be nice to see a native person play a native and non native roles. If anyone is to save anyone it is the Creator. We should stop seeing people and their color. You are awesome Adam! I pray GOD guides you through this process.

"Dignity and strength"---that's what AB has brought to his every role, and so to the mainstream culture's idea of Native peoples which needs so badly to be changed. I hope he will someday play the lead role in my fact-based film about Native New England, a Massachusett leader called Many Arrows, in "Merrymount: A True Adventure Comedy." ancientlights.org/merrymount.html

I meet Adam beach in the summer of 1997. I was traveling from my hometown of Sipekne'katik first nation . Heading to the Highlands of waygobah Cape Breton. I was expected to attend the soft ball tournament .It just so happens that there was a pow wow going on at the same time. As I'm gathering my belongings from the bottom of the bus I stop n take a break. The whole sound crew decided to step off the bus n stretch there legs. As I'm listening to the conversation amongst them their curious of the view.I started joining into the conversation. Answering questions as best I could. Long behold an answer I shoot back was "enit ah".I had 3 different non-native people look back at me all puzzled. Then somebody asked me what the phrase ment. So I described it as best I could. Then the director explained his quest. Asking if he can have permission to use it in the content of his style of writing. Sure glad the home team I was routing for won the game that year. Otherwise I wouldn't have had the privilege of meeting Victor & Thomas g-riding on the local public transit.I dought anybody else remember me. I might have been known as the "enit eh" Indian women who came from the middle of nowhere. I was only 16 at the time.

My lifes sense, My good goes away, with every day more far away. I have done so many bad, stupid things, but was it alll wrong? For nothing? I don´t want to believe this. At least I love them, at least I can wait. Hatuk Hill

I think he used "Indian" because of the generational gap. Adam is a Gen-X, he grew up in the 80's and early 90's where the term "Indian" was accepted as someone of Indigenous background in the Americas region. Additionally, other Gen-X natives from USA also prefer "Indian" or "American Indian" to remind the US government to honor the treaties made with the tribes.
@AhNee
@AhNee 3 жыл бұрын
@@karlos_infamous We all have our personal designations, has nothing to do with Gen-X or anything else. "Indian" is also still a legal definition. It's as individual as people are.

In order to volunteer for 10+ hours a week, you need to be able to afford it. This is the Universal Basic Income. Let’s give volunteers a guaranteed minimum income of $1,500ish USD/month. So they can make our communities better. Viggo
