Hotel operators that were strong-armed into opening up rooms, had to seek compensation for the destroyed rooms and damage that was done, along with the loss in revenue when paying customers left due to the situation within the building. Mark Hopkins on San Francisco 'housed' a number of 'homeless' during the pandemic...a coupe of them soiled some furniture in the lobby, everyone of the rooms had destroyed carpeting, clogged toilets and several instances of naked people wondering around the public spaces.

Yes, many homeless people have mental health issues and have addiction, but not all of them. @KennethBlum-sl6rx What Newsom and many governors, politicians: state legislators, representatives, and senators can do is pass a bill restricting and limiting institutions, corporations, firms, hedge/mutual, investments funds/trusts from buying up 50% of properties all across America and turn them over for top dollar that is way above market value. This greatly affects the value of properties, making it impossible for the average American to buy homes and even rent apartments. They won't do it because it makes way too much tax revenue for the state and federal government. Even in Scottsdale AZ, homes go for over 1 million for about 2000 sq ft. In Columbus, OH, rent is about 1500 for a 1 br. Let's not also forget that states send their homeless to CA. This is true because I've spoken to many police officers that clean up homeless camps and they ask where arr you from, and they say TN, TX, AZ, NV, then they show them their bus ticket - bought and paid for by the state. The Alaska governor even said at a press conference that he's toggling the idea of sending their homeless to CA. That's not cool, states should handle their own homeless problems and not send them elsewhere.
