Adam driver is really respecting the fact he’s got to be in some of the final movies of the old masters-Michael Mann, Terry Gilliam, and now Francis Ford Coppola
@StephenDedalus743 ай бұрын
Absolutely, but I would go a little further here : "Ferrari", "The man who killed Don Quixote", and "Megalopolis" are all films/projects that these geniuses had mentionned a long time ago (like 40 years at least !!) in several interviews and they carried them in their minds and dreams (and other films/projects) during a super long time before finally making them real !!!! And Adam Driver is in those three movies !!! It is awesome and fascinating when you think of it !! :)
@collinmartin25663 ай бұрын
@PhuchatThamnakphonbefore Ferrari michael Mann hadn’t made a film since 2014. Gilliam’s last film was 6 years ago and that film took 30+ years to get off the ground. Now maybe you’re right but considering the time both these men, let alone all three, have had to get their films up in the air, it seems more unlikely.

Add to that Martin Scorsese's Silence, fellas. He had been trying to make that since the late 80s if I recall, but he didn't feel like he was good enough to do it then. Driver has the most impressive resume of directors he's worked with, possibly only behind De Niro.
@collinmartin25663 ай бұрын
@@killer1one1 I was gonna add Scorsese but he’s seem to still be making movies a lot more frequently than the three men I listed, still tho silence is a great film to have on his resume

Working with Francis is a privilege for any actor and Adam knows it better than anybody, who I call the new Al Pacino of these times. In fact, I feel like watching Megapolis after seeing Joker: Folie á Deux, which was an unnecessary sequel no one wanted.

LOVE Adam Driver :) He is certainly one of the greatest actors alive !!! :) I think he would be perfect for playing Ivan (or Dmitri) in a new adaptation of "The Brothers Karamazov" the masterpiece novel by Dostoïevski !! :) I mean, he can play sooooo many great characters it is insane !!! :) And of course what a cinephile joy to see the master Coppola back with this film, the project he wanted to direct for so many years !!!! :)

It’s as if they are expecting the film to be misunderstood or lambasted and then looked at as brilliant like 2001: A Space Odyssey was later. They’re trying to preemptively quash the negativity by downplaying 😮cautious hopes the film goes in that direction. We shall see…😅

It must be a falsehood that Coppola displayed innapropriate behavior towards some female extras on set, because if it is true and Adam shows all this support of him then he’s just lost a lot of respect from me. I mean I get it gotta market your picture, but man always seemed hard like he wouldn’t schill out like that

Well it is true, there is literally footage of him going up to a woman touching her without consent. It's a tricky position as an actor, as he has a contract. But people in Hollywood have no bones, and this happens oh so often. Very weird!
