@@JK-vc7ie They were trying to run the clock out after Gase frivolously used the Jets timeouts for no reason. They knelt 3 times and were just trying to end the game but Gase was a sore loser. Your diagnosis of the problem as Gase's rigidity is spot on. During Thursday night's debacle against the depleted Bronco defense, Vic Fangio all but sent out a telegram every time his defense was blitzing. His two inside linebackers moved up to the line of scrimmage just as the defense set, giving Darnold plenty of time to audible for a quick screen or slant pass. However, Gase doesn't use audibles or pre-snap motion, so the blitz that everyone knew was coming was never picked up and Darnold was left with a play that I'm sure he knew was doomed to failure. This is why the Bronco defense turned into the '85 Bears, sacking Darnold 6 times and hitting him on another 10 plays. Any mediocre coach would have made an adjustment. Instead, Gase stood like a statue on the sideline with his face buried in the playbook, ignoring his players on the sideline as well as the action on the field, while his starting QB sustained a shoulder injury.

If anyone was taking cheap shots it was the Broncos throwing deep multiple times when the could have just done the victory formations and ended the game.
@NotificationalAlert4 жыл бұрын
@@JK-vc7ie But they weren't throwing deep. The Jets kept calling timeout despite it being a two-score game. The tactic that's used to burn more clock time is to have the QB drop deeper and roll out towards the sideline, and throw the ball out of bounds. Watch more football, fam.

Darnold had so much potential to be molded into a great young quaterback, and he's flashed it at points with the Jets. But damn you look at him and he's panicking to pass rushes that aren't even there. He looks uncomfortable, he doesn't look confident, he looks traumatized, he looks like he doesn't trust anyone around him, and he just looks unhappy to be playing QB. He was a great prospect and the Jets chewed him up and spat him back out

Jules Jules Hue Jackson just had a comically bad record there are a lot more comically incompetent head coaches when it comes to 1) pathetic blowout losses 2) locker room drama started by the coach. Adam Gase, unlike Hue Jackson or even a guy like Richie Kotite, checks both boxes, a select club of both incompetence and immaturity that includes guys like Tom Cable and Ray Handley

Maybe they are keeping Gase to tank for high draft picks. No point in firing him now if he can get you the no.1 overall. At this point, the jets have no reason to not rebuild and Gase should actually help the franchise in those terms (as long as he is fired at the end of the year).

As a Broncos fan, I feel bad for the teams who thought they got a gem in Gase. Peyton WAS the offense, and I felt Gase didn’t have to actually do anything as a coordinator. If he called a play, Peyton would audible out of it because he read defenses like no other. Miami and the Jets bought a lemon. I felt like Aaron Rodgers and Matt LeFluer had the same effect on Nathaniel Hackett, and the Broncos were swindled in the exact same way.
@ajs963504 жыл бұрын
I was surprised when the Dolphins made him the coach, he worked with Peyton Manning for Pete's sake. He didn't make Manning who he was, and then the Jets gave him the job?!!!
