When I first heard Brady I didn't know he'd been signed and just assumed it was any of the other ex-players fumbling around the booth for something excruciatingly neutral to yap about. He left no impression other than that. Once I'd heard him for a few games he hadn't done much better. Then in that Packers Lions game where the safety watched the receiver miss the catch, then took two steps, lowered his head and got ejected for obvious head hunting. Brady had several minutes of live and slomo replays to watch it clearly and he still awkwardly tried to defend the safety and claim "there was more shoulder pad than anything" AFTER Burqhardt had already said it was a clearly helmet to helmet on a defenceless receiver.

I feel like you didn’t mention his ownership status enough. It could be a big thing limiting him right now and could be a permanent limit to his ceiling. I’m sure the nflpa wouldn’t like an owner telling the country that players are trash. And since he can’t attend any team meetings he can’t make the calls that Romo got so popular making. It’s one thing to be able to read a defense, but if he doesn’t actually know how that team thinks going into the game then he can’t predict the future with the same kind of speed and accuracy. This was a phenomenal video to pop up in my recommended. I am a lifelong diehard pats fan and you nearly mirror my own internal thoughts on TB12 as a commentator. The support he’s getting on air has been great; it’s what they’re telling him off air in my opinion. When Tom stutters I don’t necessarily believe it’s out of nervousness. I’d say that fox has likely “encouraged” him on what to say in the form of guardrails. You make a great point when you say at his price point there is no budget left for training. I think he’s stuttering because he is being put into a position where he has to talk in an unnatural flow/cadence and simply can’t come up with the words he knows fox wants him to say in time. I also big time agree that he should be doing more attacking of the teams he is watching. TB12 is known for breaking down defences. Let him get on air and explain everything that the defence is doing wrong, and then he can explain exactly where the offence is missing out on capitalizing off the defence’s mistakes. I think the people would like it more than this AI commentator fox seems to have him pigeonholed into being . Again, this was a really well made video, I really enjoyed it.
