Fried onions are onions cooked in butter, if they’d been cooked much longer than that they would’ve browned and burnt the butter, making it taste like ass

My thoughts exactly. The onions looked nearly raw, should have been in long slices and slightly clear and browned until carmelized. But, I would also add finely diced raw onion bits too just as a burger needs fresh onion slices on it.

Several folks are posting that matt stonie could eat 2 or 3 of these in less than an hour, i'm sure he could, there are quite a few competitive eaters that could, stonie, chestnut, molly and i don't know how how to spell their names , but an asian male and female who have won the nathan's hot dog eating contest. Most competitive eaters are smaller people, these guys are just regular fellows who have big appetites and give us regular folks a chance at winning a restaurant challenge. Adam finished a 72 ounce sirloin, baked potato, salad , crab cocktail a veggie and a roll in appx. 28 minutes. Molly the mouth, a competitive eater finished 3 of those meals in less than an hour. The competition food eaters are a rare and very small percentage of the population

You dont realize how much 5lbs of ANYTHING is to eat. Let alone something that is basically steak, bread and dairy. The 3 things that fill your stomach the fastest!!! ANY competitive eater will tell you that the HARDEST things to eat are bread and steak. And potatoes, potatoes are especially rough. They fill you so quickly. Which is why during great depressions and foot shortages, they always ate hella potatoes.

To be fair, the segment was edited for the show. Any other time you may see him making a cheesesteak for a news program or whatever, he always adds the seasoning right towards the end shortly before adding the cheese. Cause, as he emphasizes, the salt will otherwise draw moisture out from the steak if you add it early.

I am not a big feller, 6 ft, and 198 pounds, but i gaurantee i could eat this in an hour. I would like to have the sandwich nuked in the microwave for appx. 25-30 seconds when the cheese gets cold and glue like, but if that is against the rules of the challenge, i would go to the hot sauce, preferrably mcilhenny's tobasco sauce, my fave with beef and cheese. I want to go here and try this, it looks delicous. Also, some folks say they want their onions carmelized, but i like them raw and just warm.

In kentucky we have a chain of restaurants, they do not even carry cheese whiz, provolone or pepper jack cheese are you only 2 choices for cheese, the chain is called penn station, they use thinly sliced sirloin instead of ribeye though, but they are good

My family is from rural kentucky, these sandwiches look delicious, but i am not an expert on philly cheese sandwiches, nor do i claim to be, lol, i'm 56, and for some reason it seems to me that philly cheese steaks had the thin sliced meat, with cheese, sauteed onions and some kind of sauteed peppers on them years ago, maybe like slivers of sauteed green bell peppers ?, anyone on here know,? i could be wrong or maybe i am thinking of a different sandwich from somewhere because i never see that anymore. It actually looked like he dripped the cheese whiz onto his finger, which is a bit closer to the preferred method of tasting a sauce. The best way is to drip it onto a clean spoon, that way there's really no chance of contamination.
