Okay, so Adam decides to have fun, and express his sexuality with a guy who doesn't care, and everyone hates him for it. Fuck society.

Normally when there is a performance that is live, every little bit is critiqued, the interesting thing about this one is people were so focused on that kiss (which so freaking what? Women do that crap all the time live. Hello? Madonna, Britney Spears, and Christina Aguilera?) that no one paid attention to the fact he actually fell during the performance. He rolled right on thru and kept going. That's the sign of a real performer.

It was a fair old bang when he fell, he's right, you can hear the clunk of the microphone, poor lad. Fine for Madonna and Britney to be tonguing each other, two women can snog each others faces off, but heaven forbid two blokes kiss. What a load of fuss and bother over nothing. The President can brag about grabbing womens bits, that's fine......triple standard America.

I am still just AMAZED. That he fell. And instead if hurting himself and messing up, he tucked, rolled, ended up on the other side and kept singing. Didn't miss a beat. Bet it hurt afterwards, though.

Felix Cooke When did he fall?? If you are referring to the part at 1:55 it is extremely obvious that is coreographed and rehearsed down to the finest detail, and you can see how the dancer he's with just before his "fall" simulates throwing him onto the next platform and Adam Lambert makes a perfect roll ending precisely underneath the female dancer with whom he does the next routine. This is obviously part of the show. In fact it even fits the lyrics about "getting swept off your feet" ... ;-) But it may of course be a completely different fall you are referring to that I just missed? ... Where do you think he fell?
@anniejohnson3225
@anniejohnson3225 9 жыл бұрын
Beninu Andersen ok... when he trips and rolls on that platform its not choreographed. He admits that in a recent interview this year when he plays most awkward. He tucked and rolled when he fell and it looked like he was a glamninja. Watch the interview then come back.

Yes, I'm talking about that moment Beninu--as Annie says, he's spoken about it, saying it was a fall, and watching it closely, you can see--he's moving to get up on that platform--but at the corner where it levels out his leg trips and he falls forward. He's got good enough reflexes to keep it going, and you can actually hear some clunking when the mic hits the metal--also, that platform is like metal grille, NOT fun to fall on. He talks about having the worst bruise there in the interview as well cx on his knee. I thought it was choreographed first time I saw it, but I watched it again and right before he rolls, you see him sort of dip, his torso flopping down as he trips. It's subtle though and he did a good job masking it.

Adam's explanation: “Literally, as I did it, I went, ’Oh god, what am I doing?’ ” he explained. “I was out of body. You know, the finger was to the people that have been criticizing me. The finger was to the people who doubt me. The finger was to the people that were about to censor me. The finger was not to fans or people who support me at all, by any means. “The finger was to Out magazine’s editor who wailed into me , people like that,” he continued. “It wasn’t premeditated; it just kind of happened. In the end … it was to prove freedom of expression and to prove I am in control of my situation. I am an artist and I’m here to express myself. My intention wasn’t to upset people.”

I think this is such old news and not Adam's best performance. Adam is so much more polished and comfortable in his skin now and he wasn't as experienced on live TV with the exception of Idol which was totally different. He said himself he wasn't happy with the vocal delivery, but the one good thing was an open discussion regarding the double standard in music. He did recover like a Ninja during his fall that he covered like a pro. Hope people see what he's doing now & not 6 years ago. He's matured and this performance doesn't represent his outstanding talent and who he is, a magnificent man & artist.

For me I don't see what so shocking about his entire performance at all, it' freakin' genius. Adam Lambert is a one in million. Okay, fine, yes he is gay but that doesn't mean there is NO place for him in the singing business due to his sexuality. Being a professional artist like him is that his talent is the only thing that is most important about him, and that his sexual orientation has nothing to do with it. He's just being himself. If the media are still mad at him today all because of this beautiful performance then they should mind their own freakin' business. HE'S JUST BEING HIM!!!! And that's what I love most about him

I love how most of these comments are saying things like, "What's so shocking?" It just makes me really happy because I expected to see a whole bunch of closed-minded bigots saying things like, "OMG Put that away, gays are such terrible people, you shouldn't expose people to this crap." Instead, we have a lot of open-minded people who are just huge fans of Adam and support him through everything. I want to thank you guys for that. It's really nice to see how society's learning to love everyone equally, no matter who or what they are

Yeah, he can sing his face off. The media likes to focus on the same old people. I have been getting back into buying music and it is amazing to see how people have such a loyal following. Adam is a gift on this earth. He's extremely talented, good hearted and not afraid to be himself. It's tragic he's not as appreciated as he should be in the music world. Adam is my role model, and it sickens me that this performance was regarded in the negative light it was viewed in. It's perfectly fine for two women to kiss on an awards show, but two guys kissing was unacceptable. I'm glad the world has changed since this performance, but the world is still lacking the equality not only for the LGBT community but for other races, religions, and gender. No matter who you are you deserve to be treated the way everyone else is treated.

Nerves were probably playing a big part for this performance and maybe he felt he had a point to prove, who knows? Saying or doing something that's 'Shocking' always gets attention. BUT I think in the time between then and now, he has grown as an artist. And as for performing with Queen, he was amazing, live in Manchester, UK (21-01-15). Check out Save Me & Who Wants to Live Forever from that evening. Perhaps the opinions of the doubters may change.

OMG I AM SO...oh wait, not shocked at all. Honestly, as a musician I'm more shocked how badly his nerves affected the performance, knowing his background prior to this (not just Idol). Flat, pitchy, all over the place. You can see after he sits on the "throne" that Adam realizes this, as he kicks the song up to the level it should have been from the start. In the end, who cares? We have someone who can front Queen. Someone with the same flamboyant who gives a damn attitude Freddie had onstage and during most of his life. He may not be Mercury, but he and the members of a Queen can give us those songs again. Live. With the passion and care they deserve. That's all I care about.

When I saw the performance they showed him "giving the middle finger" uncut during our West Coast broadcast but it was cut from the rest of the broadcast in the other parts of the country. So Sunday it will marking 6 years since this performance (despite the words "screaming" and "pleasure" had to be edited out during the song and "the kiss" was seen but it shouldn't have happened unlike in the rehearsal version) was shown and then the following day will be the 6th anniversary of the FYE album's release. Since after this, it was never performed again and replaced it with WWFM. Time flies when you're having fun. Every Glambert is still singing this song since I first learned but didn't get some of the words to it right even if my company's next talent show comes up again, I'll have to redo it along with IIHY (almost at the end away from finishing it up) and NCOE then finally add GT along to plan on four performances this time even if we're allowed to perform more than one but we're not.

I had this show in the background. I knew of Adam from the American Idol final as I was not a fan of any Idol show, but thought he was amazing (I was too lazy to turn over the channel). This performance made me an instant fan. I was not offended at all by any of it. I thought it was hot, risqué, explosive and just blew me away. A guy kissing a guy should be seen as normal as hetro. He had this energy that I had not seen before in any of the music talent of that time. I love how he has grown in the six years and doesn't hide behind hair dye and make-up. I love the Adam we see now. But I will always love the Adam with the hair dye and make-up. But times change as do trends.

If you're gonna be ofended by a performance containing sexual manner (in fact it was ONLY a kiss), then you should be ofended by all performances containing sexual images. So many people do it too. What's the difference between girl-boy's kiss and boy-boy's kiss? Kiss is kiss, and sexual orientations are all equal. There's noting to do with his sexual orientation. And Adam you rocks! I love the performance, you entertained me successfully. So proud of being a Glambert.

But when Madonna , Christina and Britney kissed (and they couldn't sing half as good as him) they weren't that shocked, but because he's a man, it's "omg"? Wtf? Hypocrites ! I think it was great performance and he's opening up doors for gay people, great! And I actually didn't think that kiss was so "in your head" like when the women did it! It was shuttle in my eyes! But who's laughing now? Adam, he's touring with Queen and many artist wish they had the same opportunities as he has, but they don't have he's vocal! He's awesome!

People forget he's human and was JUST starting his career - he's not the only artist to not have been perfect. I just went to see him on Jimmy Kimmel live and he was AMAZING and flawless. He really has come in to his own!

Unknown to many who were appalled by the badass that he was on stage, the most surprising or interesting thing is he's completely the opposite in reality - one of the nicest most humble and gentle person around with the biggest heart! He is a testament of a person who is truly beautiful inside and out! What a gem...

I just loved the performance,Adam, his band, the person he kissed, who we now know as Tommy Joe Ratliff, his bass guitarist.❤❤❤MissssssTommy soooo much, but still enjoy all of their videos. Adam's music was then and just constantly getting better, how that's possible I'm not sure but it is ❤❤❤❤❤❤

I love Adam. I didn't watch him when he was on Idol but I have seen most of his performances and they are just absolutely amazing. I agree with what a lot of people are saying, its not shocking its not something that you expect to see yes, but I think from the very beginning people could guess his sexuality so what's so surprising. He explains that maybe it was bad judgment but I'd like to disagree. the people who are hating him for this are the ones with the bad judgment. He is gay so what. what if Adam came up to you and judged you for being straight, he could do the same thing to those of us who are straight to the people who are dragging him down for being gay. The other thing that bothers me is that most people think that being gay is a choice but what they don't realize is that the people who are gay usually don't want to be gay they want to live normal lives just like you and me but they cant that's the way they were created and they cant change that because if they could they would. I think that people in this world should be able to be who they want no questions asked. A persons sexuality shouldn't matter, the thing that matters is that they are a good person, not what they look like, not what gender they are interested in, it matters that they are a good person and have a good heart. I hope that Adam reads this because the negative comments mean nothing the positive comments are what matter and the negative comments aren't going to do anything he needs fans that support him no matter what and that's what we have to realize, so if you don't support him fine but keep your opinions to yourself because nobody cares what you think.

In a way it was the reaction to this kiss that lead Adam and Tommy to the many kissing during Glam Nation Tour, so technically we have all the nay sayers to thank for all those special Adommy moments. You try and tell Adam "no" or "that's wrong" and he's going to take it and make it epic.

Kel Bell I know right. But there is always a big dubble standard in the USA, just like Adam said. When women do it, it's hot and good, but when a man does is, it's suddenly a big deal, cause some people are kind of retarted and like to discriminate.

Kel Bell Yes. But in my country (The Netherlands) it's not a big deal, so I'm happy about that. We be like: So? It's a boy kissing a boy or a girl kissing a girl. We've also got a soap where they've got a gay couple.

In today's world love is hard to find. If you have someone or something you love it is a precious gift. Love comes in many different forms, from all kinds of people and creatures - if you find it hold on to it as hard as you can, and don't waste it. WOW! Listen to me.....€{*.*}€..... I started to get sad from all the fighting! OK, where's my tissue box? Damn! Why can't I ever find it when I need it! PEACE!!!!!

not shocking, the theme of the song goes with the theme of the performance. Really listen to the lyrics instead of complaining about him grinding up on one or two people. "ew he kissed someone" You're lucky he didn't do more than that what with the outfits the dancers are wearing. the only problem I had with this performance was that his vocals were flat and pitchy in some areas.
