As a Barca fan, I can wholeheartedly agree that Modric is up there with the greatest: Zidane, Xavi, Iniesta, etc… for me Zidane is untouchable but after that I’m taking Xavi over both Modric and Iniesta. The argument that Modric can maybe offer a bit more all round is fair but you’ll never again see a midfielder that reads the game like Xavi. 40+ goal contributions in a single season, his patience, passing range, everything was basically perfect, however I do agree that if you take him out of Barca’s system it might sway the debate towards Modric. But, we should judge based on what we’ve seen, not based on “what ifs” and for that reason I think Xavi is the answer (it’s VERY close, don’t less clueless Barca fans tell you otherwise)

Kroos is the Xavi to Modric's Iniesta. Tempo controller. Real Madrid play to Kroos' tempo. If he speeds up they speed up, If he slows down they slow down.. Modric is the better player of the two but Kroos does need a little more respect in the scene. In any point, Modric is the king of the trivela pass. If you watch him play week in week out he uses the outside of his right more often than the inside of his left. Little passes, long passes, crosses. Its a beauty to watch him play.

For me Messi is the overall GOAT. But I've been so impressed by Ronaldo lately that I think he is the 30y/o+ GOAT. His levels and accomplishments Post-30 is insane.
