I have watched your video and I am glad that someone is finally taking the time to find out who Charley Floyd was and what he did and didn’t do. I was very young when I started studying him but as I studied more and more several things just didn’t make sense. He was portrayed as a bad man in some of the fiction about him until 1974’s The Story Of Pretty Boy Floyd aired for the first time on ABC and told a whole different story about him. And naturally it was gutted of the incidents that he was actually accused of which led me to believe the truth hadn’t been told. Then in 1992 Michael Wallis’s book Pretty Boy: The Life And Times Of Charles Arthur Floyd came along. I bought it immediately and began to read the real story and found that the story as told by Wallis was what I believed and confirmed to me for the 1st time where he got the title The Robin Hood Of The Cookson Hills. Yes he was a bank robber but a bank robber with a heart ❤️ I discovered be this book he would actually help families with groceries and buy clothes and shoes for children. Even his death is still in question today. Thank you for this video and please do more!

Yes. Charles Floyd was a complex figure in the history of American crime. He was not a man prone to violence and possessed a sincere sympathy for others. However, due to being a bank robber, said violence was destined to follow him. He would, and did, kill to prevent himself from being captured.

I'm not going to sit and cheer for Floyd and Richetti, but they did use constraint in this situation with Sherriff Hollingsworth and Mr. Griffith. If Hollingsworth had a weapon and reached for it, it could have been a far more tragic ending.

Killingsworth sure was impressed, it was almost weird!

@@MMorbid Sheriff Killingsworth (thanks for the correction) was simply happy to be alive. Erv Kelley, in Oklahoma, was not so fortunate.
