I love it when Sam explained the importance of nurturing a natural talent, unlike Darrin 1 (writers choice) freaking out in SAMANTHA, THE SCULPTRESS. Darrin gave Adam the OK. We don't know if the writers started scripting it that way. Having Darren be angry all the time is a one-track theme, and much easier than coming up with humorous dialogue. Right here is where it shuts down the theory Adam had no powers. Mic drop. One part that wasn't shown was where Adam kept summoning Samantha to him. And considering the fact that Adam was old enough pass the stages of wishcraft they had to explain to him he couldn't use his powers like the way he wanted to. That is probably why it was written but he wasn't active with his powers like Tabitha was. Plus not only that the way the show had a properly ended that's another reason why.

The quote he mentions: The quality of mercy is not strained. It droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven Upon the place beneath. It is twice blest: It blesseth him that gives and him that takes. 'Tis mightiest in the mightiest; it becomes The thronèd monarch better than his crown. His scepter shows the force of temporal power, The attribute to awe and majesty Wherein doth sit the dread and fear of kings; But mercy is above this sceptered sway. It is enthronèd in the hearts of kings; It is an attribute to God Himself; And earthly power doth then show likest God's When mercy seasons justice. Therefore, Jew, Though justice be thy plea, consider this: That in the course of justice none of us Should see salvation. We do pray for mercy, And that same prayer doth teach us all to render The deeds of mercy. I have spoke thus much To mitigate the justice of thy plea, Which, if thou follow, this strict court of Venice Must needs give sentence 'gainst the merchant there. - Portia, in William Shakespeare, The Merchant of Venice, Act 4, Scene 1.[1]

The series was supposed to run 1 more year. But Montgomery and her husband bill Asher were divorcing and Liz was growing so bored with the role. Hope that clears up why Adams powers were made public so late in the last season. That storyline probably wouldve been developed more for the 9th season
@picantesworld77233 жыл бұрын
Absolutely I said the same exact thing. That's why when they did the spin off of Tabatha the pilot episode Adam had his powers. But the network didn't pick up the series, so then other writers had revisited the idea of the spin off which Lisa Hartman starred and Adam didn't have powers and they must of went off the idea Adam didn't use his powers anymore after this episode assuming he was mortal. Many people didn't like the series spinoff for that reason.

It didn't help that "Tabitha" also had the adult Adam as a mortal -- never mind that it was not only established canon that he was a warlock, it was also genetically impossible for him NOT to have been one. As a full-blooded witch, Samantha could only give Adam her witch genes. He'd only be half-mortal at the most, and since children inherit their parents' dominant characteristics, he'd naturally inherit her powers just as his sister Tabitha did!

I never liked this replacement of Darren. I didn't feel the same chemistry. Almost felt the the characters Samantha n Darren woukd head for divorce ALL TO SAMS BENEFIT but since the divorce issue would have been a added no no on too of a witchy show...they just kept the semblance of the threads of original show idea...

I agree, Terence. I imagine back in the early 70s (I was a toddler at that time), it was fashionable.

Those hippy pants and neck sweat band on Lizzy look ridiculous. She’s the foundation of the show who swallowed the hippy poison. She also ruined her hair. Stick with your roots.

My sister wore bell bottom pants with a wide belt. I wore chokers, the hair style is consistent for the time. She wore clothes that others wanted to emulate. Shirley Jones wore worse styles. Elizabeth always reminded me of my aunt. She looks fine. I’d love to have Endora’s wardrobe today.

Somebody must have been helping him since Adam had no powers in the series .. I guess Maurice did it to keep them from ending Samantha's marriage
@legaleagle463 жыл бұрын
That was the entire point of this scene. Adam had always HAD powers, but he had been put under so much pressure from birth not to use them that he actively suppressed them until Darrin finally gave him permission to demonstrate them. We never saw it, but Samantha later gave him the same talk that she had to give Tabitha a few times about the importance of learning and using discretion in the use of witchcraft when Tabitha was his age and experimenting with HER powers.

@Julesmacc5477. Im so sorry you had to end your relationship. 😢. I hate it when people get in the way of other peoples buisness. I was with my partner for 11 years. And while i left him for my own valid reasons my family members didnt like him at times. And my ex could often feel it. Its not pleasant.
