There's a type of augment like this for people who've lost, say, half of their fingers. Like, they still have the fingers past the knuckle, but they've lost everything past that. This lets them perform operations like picking up objects, turning the ignition in a car, etc... most things we take for granted, now they can do almost identically.

The big thing is you want to turn the Proximal Phalanges into extensions of your MetaCarpals and fill up the palm. Then you have fully proportional giant hands. with 3 bends. What's incredible to me is that there's no uncanney valley. The proportions and movement are just so readable as human and I think using the first joint as a the knuckle is what really helps that. The elongated back of the hand helps the elongated fingers feel more natural. Very well designed!

@@Tomartyr Michael is right, plugging yourself directly in the computer exposes you to threats, like hacking, etc., so an external interface that you can operate faster than biologically possible has its uses.
