In anticipation of Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Adam makes a replica Proton Pack inspired by the film, complete with a full complement of interactive lights, smoke effects, and extra greeblies to make it his own personal version of the iconic prop. And better yet, Adam is granted access to one of the hero Proton Pack filming props from Ghostbusters: Afterlife which he uses as reference for his detailing and finishing. Here's how Adam's custom Proton Pack came out!

I don’t see why this is so difficult for people, I make sure I point out the “why” part so folks can go create their own solutions, give general guidance on what I would or wouldn’t do and most importantly, positive feedback and recognition. I like how he also explains the if/then/else parts, a clear sign of how someone can develop a strategy to solve a problem. A strategy is nothing more than a decision tree.

To whom shall I speak, and give warning, that they may hear? He that has ears to hear, let him hear. Are you saved? Where will you go when you die? Heaven or hell? The Gospel, which means the Good News is the news that God Almighty, the Creator came in the flesh as Jesus Christ to take away the sin of the world. The one God is a trinity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Son came and laid down his own life to save ours. His sacrifice on the cross paid the price for our redemption with his own blood. On the third day he rose from dead and offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness to those that repent and trust in him. Although God's creation was created perfect, having no death, sickness and disease, the creation became corrupted through Adam and Eve in them disobeying God. In this rebellion the creation became fallen through the curse of sin and mankind became separated from God. This world is fallen, but God offers reconciliation to him through his provision at the cross. Ultimately God will restore his creation to perfection when he returns but those that who reject his offer of redemption will remain condemned by their sins and go to hell. John 1:1,14 KJV In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and THE WORD WAS GOD. [14] And THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH, and dwelt among us, 1 John 3:8 KJV He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty GOD, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. John 1:10 KJV He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and THE WORLD KNEW HIM NOT.

I have been so completely obsessed with what I would call my 'perfect' proton pack and this has so many features that I just completely love. The overheating and multiple firing modes from the video game, the custom cyclotron, the smoke machines!!! I've never built a single prop in my life, and I already know that if there's ever going to be a 'one and only', this is it. Thank you for the additional inspiration; I think I'm going to have to travel down the rabbit hole soon.

My current pack is made from recycled cardboard and found items from around the house. (Build time was just under 3 months due to my full-time job.) I used hot glue to imitate weld lines where needed and weathered them with metallic aluminum craft paint. It does have an authentic Spectra computer ribbon cable (GB 2 style) and screen accurate hoses where needed. It's 6 years old as of this writing and everyone who sees it can't believe it's cardboard! The screen-accurate lighting kit really helps a lot! (purchased from a seller on Etsy last year.) It runs off of 1, 9-volt rechargeable battery and lasts at least 6 hours of continuous use. A huge Bluetooth speaker is inside the cyclotron so I can play music wherever I go. Granted, my pack is heavily weathered and I used layers and layers of corrugated cardboard as well as 2 bottles of wood glue to make it nice and sturdy. And it weighs roughly 12 pounds with the Hasbro Plasma Series Spengler's Nuetrona Wand (modified to resemble the original 84 version) and ALICE frame.

I remember the first proton pack I built. Stuck a backpack inside a cardboard box, with holes cut in the box for the straps. Then I found some old video game system that had a light gun controller that you could convert from a pistol, to a long barreled pistol to a rifle, that attached to the console by a long cable (wished I could remember the name of the console. It was before even the Nintendo system around the time of the first movie). Anyhow, cut a hole, stuck the system through, painted the box black, and hand drew and colored with markers a Ghostbusters symbol, and glued it on the box. It wasn't fancy, or perfect, but I had my own "Unlicensed Nuclear Accelerator" on my back. Of course, I was about 13 at the time, with a lot of medical issues... Maybe it's time for a MkII version... Thank you, Adam Savage for the inspiration...

Hearing you talk with the others reminds me of how my dad talked with others when working on projects. No he was not in the same business at all and I lost him a little over 20 years ago now. It was just the way you talked when working out any issues or just getting your point out there on how you needed it to be done. And no not in a way that made it sound like you were telling them to do it your way but how you could tell you had a plan that would work and to guide others. Thank you

I've been following Adam since I was 13. I'm 32 now and I still feel the excitement everytime I watch him build something. The feeling of building something yourself that you are so proud of is amazing. Thank you for inspiring so many generations of people to build, invent, and just have fun bringing their ideas to life.

It was Egon that switched on Ray's pack in the elevator, and then Egon moved away, trying to hide behind Peter. I laughed so hard when I saw the film in 1985. Absolutely AMAZING job on your custom pack! Love it!

I’ve got one of those Spengler wands and a Matty PKE meter, but I’d love to also one day have a full-size pack. I’m not able to build it myself, but if I ever manage to sell a limb or a slice of my liver, I’ll definitely have to get one.

My Hasbro replica has just arrived! I'm a music student so atm can't afford any full on replica/custom piece yet but hopefully one day! (I have added some nice thick vinyl proton pack and wand stickers onto my main guitar and bass though!

I got a spirit Halloween pack for 79 bucks, obviously not as good as a full blown replica but if you add on the Spengler wand it doesn’t look too bad!

One day when I get my workshop up and running I will make a Proton Pack (though I will use the Spengler Wand that came out last year as I have that already) so this will help me in ideas for weathering. I would also love to see Adam one day make a full scale Dalek - With working lights and all that, plus making it look battle damaged & warn from one of the many Dalek wars... Maybe a Comicon disguise :P

Adam & Jen are like the Kirk & Spock of the maker scene. They're both brilliant on their own but when they team up they're practically unstoppable. Adam's approach is almost pure, unbridled passion, he's like a little kid who just can't wait to get his hands dirty and his enthusiasm rubs off on everyone around him. Jen is equally passionate but she temper's it a bit under this logical, thought-out process. The two of them should honestly set up some sort of Maker's Academy to mentor new makers.

I enjoyed this video more than I should've, lol! It was especially cool hearing you talk about the naming of the pack parts, which I was one of the builders who came up with some of the parts names, basically trying to standardize things a bit to ease up confusion. Very cool build and I love your enthusiasm throughout the build, but honestly I'm bummed you and Jason didn't use my aluminum wands, lol!

15:57 I made the crank generator on my pack build into the power switch. It actually has 2 modes: normal operation and visualizer. Visualizer takes in ambient sound (or sound pumped out through the pack speakers; I also added an aux in) and controls the pack lights based on the sound.
