I had no idea so much production was put into the 2048 short film.Sometimes behind the scenes takes away from a film.This definitely adds to it.

@damien98017 жыл бұрын
Devon Palmer yes it might deserve awards in best cinematography ( I hope Deakins wins, although i have been hearing masterful things from The Shape of Water, have to wait and see) and maybe visual effects. But it didn't achieve the heights of what the original did. Personally everything else in the film was mediocre, Mad Max Fury Road was a much better all around film and deserved all those awards, but Blade Runner 2049 not a chance.
@miguelpereira98597 жыл бұрын
damien Huh what is mediocre exacly?
@damien98017 жыл бұрын
Miguel Pereira nothing really felt original and it fell into what alot modern movies do now. Things like the writing was average, giving the characters these lines like "the end of the world" while zooming in on their faces, shit like that I find mediocre and the film does it a few times. I felt that the technology within the the world took a step back, seemed uninspired. And the soundtrack was average at best, it also gave into playing nostalgia tracks rather then come up with good original songs, just annoying ambient noises with no depth.

The movie was just fantastic, and in my mind even greater than the first movie, though I plan to re-watch it with some friends this week which could change my mind. I'm so glad there are still studios out there willing to risk their money on practical works and long, thought provoking films such as this, rather than mass producing movies designed to make money. And it definitely makes me happy to see Adam being able to experience all of this, and to go behind the scenes and show us what lengths these people did to make such an authentic piece of cinema. It's infinitely fascinating to see how these workers and artists go about creating the world of Blade Runner, thanks for showing us this stuff Tested!
@carloorelli35387 жыл бұрын
I am sorry to disappoint you, but this is exactly the kind of movie that is designed to make money. the amount of chiché and unoriginal ideas this movie is based on just shows how this is all about money. the sole idea of making a sequel of a perfectly finished movie it a hint of this. Blade Runner did not need a sequel and for the real fans this movie is not a real sequel just because it totally ignores how the original movie ended: with both main characters left dying in a few days
@anirudhviswanathan39867 жыл бұрын
Carlo Orelli Lol. This movie also tanked at the box office, just like the 1st one. I was on PVR gold class, and there were 4 people in total(28 seats) for this movie.
@Rotmore7 жыл бұрын
Carlo Orelli Obviously there are always going to be investors and publishers that are trying to make money out of any film. But I would wager that a great majority of the crew that worked on this film had the creative intent of delivering a piece of thought provoking entertainment in mind. No Blade Runner didn't need a sequel, but it was nice to get one just for the sake of expanding the stories in this fantastic universe. It's even better that this film knew its boundaries and doesn't require you to view the first film to be a good movie. It does not try to shove the original Blade Runner down your throat, like so many other sequels do. It's a respectful and masterfully crafted narrative and visual experience that just gives the fans more meat to chew into. And please stop with 'the real fans' because let's be honest, this universe doesn't have the sort of following that allows there to be bandwagon fans and 'real' fans. Using this term just makes people seem like they are grouchy someone else watched the same thing they did and has different opinions, which goes against the intention of the film to spark discussion.
@MexieMex7 жыл бұрын
The film was actually rather disappointing. As a film it was OK, but as a sequel to Blade Runner, it was terrible. There were some nice in-jokes and references, but overall low-brow junk masquerading as high-brow gold (it was directed by Villeneuve, so I really shouldn't have expected better, the only thing he's good at is making stupid people think they are clever). Everything seemed forced and unnatural. The plot was trite and cliched, and everything was very predictable. Totally a wasted opportunity ;^

No, movies are not shot in higher and higher resolution they are only release in higher resolution. Movies that were shot on actual film still have a higher quality/resolution than 4K. Switching to digital was just a huge step backwards for resolution and quality and now they are getting closer to the analog movie quality again. Back than they just couldn't get the high resolution from the analog movies onto the screen.

You know, that's an interesting comment Adam made about the increase in resolution of modern films and modern digital projectors (not to mention BluRay on your TV at home). Some 20-odd years ago, I did the Universal Studios tour in southern California. The tram took us through a set that was being actively shot for some movie at the time, and we noted how it looked completely trashed and destroyed - it was just a street scene; some back alley. The guide told us that the set decorators HAD to exaggerate the filth, because once it made it onto the screen, between the lighting methods and the lower resolution of actual film, it would appear "normal" to viewers. If they dressed it "normally" as we'd see in real life, on film it would appear unrealistically pristine. Now, things have completely reversed.

Having no experience with Blade Runner I went and saw it the other day and I really liked it.
