Actually other way around. Saying you paid your corporate lawyer legal fees for executing a non-disclosure agreement or reimbursing your lawyer whose job is to protect the company's reputation for payment to obtain said NDA is only a misdemeanor in NY and has only a 2 yr statute of limitations. Saying it was done to further a predicate crime raises it to a felony with an extended SOL. Calling the NDA a campaign contribution has never be done and even then it was looked at by the fed. election commission and said not clear enough evidence to proceed with the investigation. No crime here yet NY says they know better.. 34 checks in commission of a crime is one crime normally but this time the prosecutor who likes making felonies downgraded to misdemeanors and slap on the wrists offenses, thinks this rises to 34 felonies. Jury instructions usual say a criminal conviction must be unanimous and in such a case means all must agree on the specific crime being guilty but this judge says if everyone agrees that at least one crime of the 34 was committed then it is unanimous that he committed the crimes in total

Honestly I think it needs to be brought up more & more that the only reason these pre-sentencing convictions exist is due to a 12 person jury that both the prosecution & Trump’s defense counsel agreed upon. Bragg & Merchan in no way forced this outcome because they didn’t need to. The prosecution presented to those 12 people an evidenced & reasoned legal case that convinced them of Trump’s guilt beyond reasonable doubt. The prosecution presented that case while, in between bouts of babysitting Trump to keep him from sleeping or pathetically trying to intimidate jurors & witnesses, the defense floundered with zero rational arguments or compelling & competent rebuttals to the facts & merits of the charges nor the evidence & testimony provided by the prosecution. This hearing fundamentally obfuscates that basic reality that the GOP & right wing media is desperate to ignore.
