Great looking guy, great looking swing, why isn't he more of a force? Maybe his putter, maybe his short game, but here we look at his seemingly spot- on swing. What we see is questionable plane shifts and pivot movement. The question that arises is "what is Butch doing to improve Scott's action?"

Today's final round at the WGC Cadillac was probably some of his finest swinging since the Open! I'd love to see another analysis since he left Butch since this video was taken. Thanks for yet another fine break down Wayne!

According to Adam in Golf Digest a year ago, one of the changes he made was bringing the club more behind him, not so much in front of the body. Another was getting the club to impact on the shaft plane. I will love to see if he has done any improvements to his backswing, since I also know you like those two ideas in a swing.

scott has left harmon's instruction, maybe we see now some progress, he was playing better at the end of the past season and i hope his improvement this year. As always, I couldn't be doing something better than watching your stuff to learn!

Interesting about the falling back off the ball. You noticed the same thing with Nicklaus - I have long noticed alot of pros have these high hands coming into the ball, above the shaft angle. It's something i though was desireable to stop the club getting too shallow in the hitting area.

@wdefrancesco how would one prevent the high release here? I noticed you mentioned luke donald does it as well... what causes the high release / what gets the release on the right plane?

Hey Wayne, great video, wish I could swing like that also, for a future video, if you remember last years U.S. Open, how Ricky Barnes was hitting everything low left later in the rounds, do you think you could do an analysis on the swings he made at Bethpage and explain why he was hitting that low snapper?

Can you do a new video of Adam soon with his new coach Brad Malone? or maybe a comparison of his swing with Butch and now?

If you look at his strokes gained around the green, scrambling and putting you will see why he doesn’t have the success that one might think he should have given that swing. In his best year on the tour as far as money won was the 2015-16 season, he was 1st in strokes gained tee to green, was 159th in strokes gained putting, but had by far his best scrambling year and was ranked 74th in scrambling. So a guy who has had a very consistent career despite being pretty terrible for a tour player around the greens is pretty great. But that is not saying he could have improved his swing and ball striking, but maybe this was a pattern he had grooved and that is why he was able to be consistent despite his horrible putting and scrambling numbers.

Same issues as Fowler under Butch Hartman. Head moves away from the ball and the release seems awkward

He played well in the Open (apart from the last 4 crucial holes!), so can you check his swing from then against this one? Cheers.

@steckleinjr if you look at all the comments on this particular thread the guy before me said that Butch ruined a lot of good swings and was critical of the steepness of their swings

Wayne can you do a current Adam Scott analysis - where the camera is at his toe line circa 2013 or more recent ? Thanks - great vid
@seanh8337

Why the toe line? If you're analyzing at the ball, which is the proper way to analyze the plane at impact, the toe line will make the swing look steeper

It's not how you take it back its how you take it down. Yes, you can't just take it back anyway you want and be successful but I think there are a lot of pros to taking it back more vertically. Why have guys like Jack old Tiger, Irwin, Watson, Couples, Calc, and Norman had so much ball striking success if they were too upright? I don't claim to know as much about the swing as you but I'm a state champion golfer and plus handicap so I know the game pretty well. Could u do a vid on a good swing

My take on this is that Adam has too much weight on the toes at address you can see it on the video clip if you know what your looking for. The moving back that you see during the backswing is simply his body trying to find balance again, he's lucky this happens as it gets him into a better position. As for the Harmon Bashing, I think if you look at the players he works with they all have different techniques. He does not believe there is one way to swing the club.
