After he was elected in 2016 and all these people I respected supported him, I was dumbfounded but figured maybe it wasn’t as bad as I thought. After his administration instituted cruelty as policy at the border I knew he would never, ever be worthy of my vote or even consideration. Those children were irrevocably scarred. If you’re truly pro-life it has to extend to post-natal life or you’re a liar.

@adamkauffman93112 сағат бұрын
She was voted in as the VP, so she didn’t come out of nowhere. And if you’re worried about the will of the people, here’s s fun fact: more Republicans voted against Donald Trump’s candidacy in 2016 than voted for him; he just won a plurality, because that’s the party rules. And if you’re okay with a party making their own rules about whom it selects, then you can be okay with the fact that Biden released his delegates and they all voted for Harris. None of this even mentions the Electoral College, in which electors can vote for whomever, regardless of what the people wanted (how’s that for installing a candidate?). At the end of the day, primaries are political theater to give us the illusion of democracy when, in reality, we live in a political party duopoly. Want it to end? Get your state to adopt ranked choice voting. Barring that, we could adopt rules that require candidates to earn over 50% of the vote and have runoff elections that limit the choice to 2 candidates after a first round of voting. But I suspect you don’t *really* care about honoring the will of the people.
