Great explanation, Adam. This helps me much to improve the quality of my images

Have to wait for version 1.1 update as my version 1.0 does not have the Image Integration area at the bottom as displayed in your video. Thanks for taking the time to produce and upload.

Yes...sorry, I should have mentioned I am just a bit ahead of the release here. Everything I show will obviously be in the next update of the script.

Thanks for comprehensive explanation! Is that possible to combine NSG with drizzling integration?
@AdamBlock3 жыл бұрын
Not in the proper way at the moment. This will change in the future. It is on the list for developers to add this functionality,.

Salve Adam, stavo notando che mostri lo script v1.1 che però non è ancora presente in PixInsight e così non è possibile fare l'integrazione dei frame. Ci sarà un aggiornamento a breve per caso? Grazie.
@AdamBlock3 жыл бұрын
Correct. It will not load the frames for you automatically. The update is likely going to be very soon. (You can load "NSG" frames manually into ImageIntegration rightnow.)

Great video Adam and I am so glad a script was written regarding gradiant normalization. Question, what would happen if you did do DBE on your reference frame?
@AdamBlock3 жыл бұрын
In order to calculate the proper metrics, adjusting the reference frame would mess up the answers- they would not be "real." This is different than Local Normalization and it is not intended to remove gradients. Normalization in the strictest sense as it is used here is match all aspects of a target frame to the reference.

Hi Adam , I'm having problems getting Image Integration to run on completion of NSG , should it run at the end and be populated with the FITS weight keyword ?? (Ps great explanation of NSG and anything else you cover for that matter)
@AdamBlock3 жыл бұрын
Yes, like I show in the video. The FIts keyword is NWEIGHT. This will be automatic in the latest version... which I believe was released today!
@cubzilla15243 жыл бұрын
@@AdamBlock Thanks Adam , that would explain it , I just could get the integration to behave like the version in your demonstration .

So is it necessary to use DBE after using this script?
@AdamBlock3 жыл бұрын
Yes, normalization really is a MATCHING function- you are matching images so that pixel rejection and weighting can be properly done. The reference frame will still have its own uncorrected gradients and things. So DBE will need to follow.

What do I do If It doesn't show altitude?
@AdamBlock3 жыл бұрын
This means your acquisition software does not write the information to the FITs header. You can simply blink the images before using NSG and find a reasonable reference frame. Finding the best frame is not necessary. Normalization is a relative measurement/process.

@@AdamBlock thank you. I'm using NINA, so do you mean I have to have altitude in the naming of my files?

Adam are you an engineer? Then my questions is... mechanical, electrical, civil, or chemical (or any of the other disciplines)?
@AdamBlock2 жыл бұрын
No... I do have a B.S. in Astronomy and Physics if that matters.
@rickymcdaniel7512 жыл бұрын
@@AdamBlock Pretty much the same thing! (B.S. in mechanical here.) I just found your stuff, and I have to say, you are an incredible instructor. Your in depth analysis, and explanations are amazing. I wish my professors in college could teach things as well as you do. Thank you for the videos. Keep up the good work. ... now I just have to figure out why I can't get a good picture of the wizard nebula with 4 hrs of data. I'll keep looking through your videos to hopefully find the key I'm missing.
